Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Clean romance
I really liked the narrator in this audiobook, I thought she is perfect for this story.
My problem is with the book. I usually don't like contempary romance but I thought I would give this a go because I really liked the description.
Yet the main character really got on my nerves. I did not understand why she did not talk to her family after she left. I found that really hard to believe and selfish of her. She is not the only one morning the loss of her mother. She also acted really immature at times, which really surprised me. I mean she is 25 not 18! And the other thing that made me not believe that she cared for the main male character is that she did not question who this other women is and she was not even jealous at all. I mean if I liked a guy even if I was not admitting it to myself I would still see the green eyed monster, but not with this character. Also I found it really frustrating that she did not question the love interest in who this women is and what she is to him. We hardly know anything about her. I thought it would be explained at the end but no. We are told that he can't believe she thought he loved her (the other women) and that was it. The way the women was acting around him I wouldn't be surprised if people thought that she was his mistress, yet we get mixed messages about it. And if she is nothing like this then why did he keep her around. I found it really confusing and I hate it when things are not really explained.
However, I did like the book, I don't know what it is about the book that I liked but it has something that had me hooked.
Would I read other books by this author? yes I would and I would recommend it as well. I think if things were explained better I would have loved it more.

Dance of the Heart
Dance of the Heart
: Susan Berry
This is a debut novel, that I found totally entertaining. Maggie is an accident looking for a place to happen. The story has a sweet clean romance, family loyalty, forgiveness and friendships. There is subtle humor to keep the listener chuckling and rooting for her to prevail. I want more from this author!
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Allyson Voller does a fine job of narrating.

Just so so
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. The story was just so so. There was a lot of things that didn't add up. Like not spending any time with her sister after being gone so long? Why didn't she help with party ? So attached to her Gran but yet she spends little time with her as well? More time is spent on describing things then on the relationships themselves. So much didn't add up. Why was she so traumatized by her mothers death as a child that at 18 she leaves home not to return? Doesn't even open mail from her sister? Why can't she fall in love exactly? Dad screwed up the family inheritance and yet no one suspects poor Gran is left holding the whole family together in her 80s? Why is there a hidden room in Gran attic locked that has old wedding gowns with jewelry dating back several centuries/decades? How is it she meets his sister Sofia and after like five minutes they become fast friends going out to lunch and shopping and yet her own sister she cares nothing about? Just too many things don't add up that kept me saying "what the heck". Sorry just felt cheated out of knowing is all.

Clean romantic suspense story
I got this book via audiobook boom. After the death of their mother and their fathers decline into alcohol and subsequent death one sister moves away trying to avoid the pain. But fate has a way of catching up. Maggie comes home to celebrate their grandmother birthday and the story goes on from there. Accidents, a vindictive woman, and false assumptions all lead to the happily ever after in the end. The narrator kept the story moving forward.
