Publisher's summary

From the USA Today best-selling author Ryan Schow comes a special two-book edition containing both The Last Light of Day and Dark Days of the After. With 120+ reviews for the separate books and a combined 4.9 star review, this powerful new set kicks off what is being called “the most important post-apocalyptic series available now"!

The apocalypse is coming, which means the end is near...

In the near future, the constitution is outlawed, the government is ceremonial at best, and the country is about to lose her name. No one knows how this happened or why America prostrated herself to the kind of foreign forces who would impose obedience through compliance.

Resistors call the occupation “creeping death”. Those countries grabbing at the reins of power see it for what it is - a full-scale invasion.

Logan Cahill is part of the underground effort to reclaim America, but when Skylar Madigan directs him to a cryptic message in the world's largest server room leading to a doomsday clock, everything changes. He now knows the enemies, the weapons, and the time of America’s death, right down to the minute.

If he wants to survive the apocalypse, he and Skylar have to bug out before all hell breaks loose. This won’t be easy, considering the surveillance grid in place or the armed lockdown of all major cities.

Dark Days of the After series is an intense new tale of strength, survival, and patriotism that puts ordinary citizens on the front line of a domestic conflict that was never supposed to happen - one that will either unify the country or break her for good.

Interesting story

Interesting story but there are a couple of things that bother me. At the beginning of the story the west coast is occupied by China and the rest of the would be united states is basically a war ground being fought over by China, South America, Europe, Africa and Canada. The author intimated that the US just sort of imploded and easily capitulated to these invading forces. There really was no explanation for how this came about. How did one of the world's foremost super powers just collapse and let the rest of the world walk all over them?

Also this writer seems to be obsessed with awkward sex. I mean it's the apocalypse and most of the characters are way too worried about when they're going to get some. And when they do it's so freaking awkward it's hard to read. Those are my only minor issues with the book. Overall it's enjoyable and entertaining.

Easy listen!

Lots of action! Characters are likable and free to break from the expectation. Looking forward to more from both Ryan and Kevin

Well written. Intense.

This was 2 books in 1. Look forward to book 3 which I’ve already downloaded. Edgy and intense and probably on point for where things are going. Character development is slow , on purpose, but you know them.

The narration was fantastic, brought strong characters to life and really impressed me. can't wait to start the next book. I hope this becomes a very long series. you get an A.

excellent freakin' book!

This was a great new take on how it may be in a horrible new PA world. I definitely recommend this series by one of my new favorite authors in this genre. I'm absolutely hooked.

Also, Kevin Pierce always makes the best stories even better.
