Acerca de esta escucha
He hunts. He kills. He walks among us. Nobody knows he exists … until now.
Former FBI agent turned full-time drifter, Karen Pantelli pursues a promising lead on her long missing mother to Orcas Island, Washington. Toiling as a hotel maid, she reaches a dead end until an encounter with an eccentric math professor raises a gruesome possibility. Her mother may have been murdered by a serial killer, the work of a cunning monster who has claimed hundreds of lives and evaded detection for decades by camouflaging his kills as accidents, suicides, or random acts of violence.
Aided by recent advances in artificial intelligence, the professor believes he can finally predict the killer's pattern. But then a stunning twist changes the game, propelling Karen across thousands of miles on a desperate mission to save innocent people before the trail goes cold forever.

Very Suspenseful Series!!!!
I really like the Karen Pantelli series. This is the third book in the series and although each is written as a standalone I would suggest listening in the order written. The author does a good job filling in the history so if you do start with this book you shouldn’t feel like you’re coming in during the middle of a story.
Pantelli is a former FBI agent who left the bureau when she accidentally shot a child in the course of a shootout with an armed suspect. Since then she’s floated from town to town picking up odd jobs, often taking on private investigations. The cases she takes are ones the police often dismiss. In this book a professor meets her in his hotel room and tells her about a serial killer who’s been killing for decades. He constantly moves around and the police haven’t connected the crimes. The following day the professor is found having committed suicide. Pantelli can see it’s been staged. And the story takes off like a locomotive…
Cathy Crosman does a good job narrating but I will say that I preferred the narrator of the first two books more. Maybe I was just looking for the same voice.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book.
