Classic good

This writer doesnt get caught up in sexy scenes filled with crap..at least not much.. and she doesnt use language that wilts flowers, often..and still manages to get a good book written. I respect that. This book is a good read for anybody not wanting anything to serious but needs something entertaining.

Dead Until Dark

I bought this book b/c I wanted to read it before I saw the HBO series True Blood..As always the book is much better. The series is a little off from the book but it is still enjoyable. Sookie Stackhouse and Bill make a good couple. Again I was hooked from day 1.

True Blood is better

I only bought this one because I watched the HBO series True Blood and loved it. I don't think it made a difference in how I feel about the book. I wouldn't have enjoyed it even if I hadn't watched True Blood. I don't plan to listen to any of the sequels. I just comes across a little juvenile.

Good story

I got this book first because I liked the twilight series (which this is nothing like) and 2nd because her 7th (i think) book in the series was on sale and had great reviews. After I changed my expectations I really enjoyed the book.

Great book/storyline - not so great reader

I love this series, the books are great!! However, the reader isn't my favorite. Her inflection and character voices are somewhat grating. I downloaded the first two books in the series, I won't be getting the remainder due to the poor job of the reader. Much better to read this series yourself

Absolutely loved it! I'm aware that this book has been around for awhile. Better late than never, so to speak. The story & performance
held my attention. I didn't care for the True Blood series, but I love this book.

Good Characterization

Well developed characters, decent story. Too much sex, detracts from the story. Worth a read.

fun

I'm not sure what to write for a review. If you are expecting a fun paranormal romance (although it's definitely one of the original series that made the genre so popular, so I feel a bit badly lumping it in there given the generally poor quality of the later knock-offs) with fun characters and a fun plot then you won't be disappointed. The narrator does a great job. Don't expect Anne Rice. Don't expect a riveting mystery. Basically, if you know what you're getting into with these books then you don't need my review :) If you've never read/heard of them but you enjoy the plethora of other paranormal romance books that have since flooded the bookshelves, then I can pretty much guarantee that you'll have a new favourite.

Love this series

I read the books before I watched the show and loved both of them as 2 different things. I’m restarting their series because I had never finished the books and decided to catch up while driving to work and back with the audible series. The narrator is ok. She is kind of annoying and I don’t like how she portrays Sookie. But she isn’t as terrible as some of the other narrators I have heard with other books.
