We live in an extraordinary time. Technological advances are happening at a rate faster than our ability to understand them, and in a world that moves faster than we can imagine, we cannot afford to stand still. These advances bring efficiency and abundance - and they are profoundly deflationary. Our economic systems were built for a pre-technology era when labor and capital were inextricably linked - an era that counted on growth and inflation and an era where we made money from inefficiency.

The finance sector of Western economies is too large and attracts too many of the smartest college graduates. Financialization over the past three decades has created a structure that lacks resilience and supports absurd volumes of trading. The finance sector devotes too little attention to the search for new investment opportunities and the stewardship of existing ones, and far too much to secondary-market dealing in existing assets. Regulation has contributed more to the problems than the solutions.

Story
Economics isn't just about numbers: It's about politics, psychology, history, and so much more. We are all economists - when we work, save for the future, invest, pay taxes, and buy our groceries. Yet many of us feel lost when the subject arises. Award-winning professor Timothy Taylor here tackles all the key questions and hot topics of both microeconomics and macroeconomics, so you can understand and discuss economics on a personal, national, and global level.

Story
Niall Ferguson follows the money to tell the human story behind the evolution of finance, from its origins in ancient Mesopotamia to the latest upheavals on what he calls Planet Finance. Bread, cash, dosh, dough, loot, lucre, moolah, readies, the wherewithal: Call it what you like, it matters. To Christians, love of it is the root of all evil. To generals, it's the sinews of war. To revolutionaries, it's the chains of labor. Niall Ferguson shows that finance is in fact the foundation of human progress.

Story
Raghuram Rajan was one of the few economists who warned of the global financial crisis before it hit. Now, as the world struggles to recover, it's tempting to blame what happened on just a few greedy bankers who took irrational risks and left the rest of us to foot the bill. In Fault Lines, Rajan argues that serious flaws in the economy are also to blame, and warns that a potentially more devastating crisis awaits us if they aren't fixed.

Story
In 2008 the US Treasury put Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into a life-support state known as "conservatorship" to prevent their failure - and worldwide economic chaos. The two companies, which were always controversial, have become a battleground. Today, Fannie and Freddie are profitable again but still in conservatorship. Their profits are being redirected toward reducing the federal deficit, which leaves them with no buffer should they suffer losses again.

Enlightened me
I learned a lot from this course. It gave me a lot of great tips of dos and don'ts on starting/ running a business. This book has important details for beginners and also much deeper knowledge for the continuation and maintaining already established business.
The language of Debt and Bankruptcy Terms can be complex, hard to understand, and confusing. If you are not familiar with terminologies, it may cause you trouble and may lead to misunderstanding. With the use of this guide, you'll be able to know and memorize each term you need to know and understand.
Knowing Debt and Bankruptcy terms helps you understand and comprehend the most common Debt and Bankruptcy lingo. Each of the terms is explained in detail and also gives practical examples. This guide was written with an emphasis to quickly grasp the context without using jargon.
Through it, broadened my knowledge about Annual Percentage Rate (APR), Asset Protection, Assumable Loan, Bad Credit, Bad Debt, Bailout, Balanced Budget, Bank Run, Bank Stress Tests, Bankruptcy, Blanket Loans, C Corporation, Cash Flow, Cash Reserves, Collateral, Compound Interest, Compounding of Money, Constructive Eviction, Consumer Debt, Core CPI, Cost of Living, and Credit Analysis, among others.
If you are looking for a guide to learn Debt & Bankruptcy Terms, I wholeheartedly suggest this book.

I found it to be a positive approach
I found it to be a positive approach to eliminating debt. Recommend for everyone who needs to follow and remain good habits in finance. This book does address some components that are usually missing or often glossed over because of simplicity rules. The author spends a chapter and makes several references to bankruptcy and how to respond. This includes problems such as garnishment, foreclosure, and repossession. Straight forward with several applicable suggestions; even on dealing with creditors and collection agencies.
