Publisher's summary

President George W. Bush describes the critical decisions of his presidency and personal life.

Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America’s 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life. In gripping, never-before-heard detail, President Bush brings listeners inside the Texas Governor’s Mansion on the night of the hotly contested 2000 election; aboard Air Force One on 9/11, in the hours after America’s most devastating attack since Pearl Harbor; at the head of the table in the Situation Room in the moments before launching the war in Iraq; and behind the Oval Office desk for his historic and controversial decisions on the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan, Iran, and other issues that have shaped the first decade of the 21st century.

President Bush writes honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes, as well as his accomplishments reforming education, treating HIV/AIDS in Africa, and safeguarding the country amid chilling warnings of additional terrorist attacks. He also offers intimate new details on his decision to quit drinking, discovery of faith, and relationship with his family.

A groundbreaking new brand of memoir, Decision Points will captivate supporters, surprise critics, and change perspectives on one of the most consequential eras in American history - and the man at the center of events.

Loved It

I miss President Bush. He was such a great pres. If you are like me and turned off the news and radio in 08 because you were so disappointed in America's selection of president then you will enjoy this book. I really enjoyed hearing from a American that is proud to call himself one. A President that did not spend his entire term in office apologizing to world leaders for defending his country or for spreading freedom to those who were denied freedom. President Bush is a good man and he will go down in history as a great President. He made me proud to call myself an American. This was a great book.

Decision Points

This book was very good and explained alot of things we all wondered about. I personally think George W. Bush was a good President and this book expained many things I wondered about like Katrina and other things. He will go down in History as one of the great honest Presidents of our time.

Decision Points by George W. Bush

It's been said that influence is the result of leadership. Listen to a former president give account for decisions he made as America's leader that ultimately influenced others. No leader is perfect, but history will show that character separates them. This source is yet another example of George W. Bush making his mark on this world.

He will have a lasting influence on my life because I am a disabled Vet who enlisted in the U.S. Army as a result of 9/11. It was my duty and honor to fight for freedom. I proudly served my country under the leadership of former President George W. Bush. Be encouraged, as you listen to my "former boss" give account for his time in office and you too will once again feel the pride that comes with being an American.

God Bless America!

Worth the listen

I liked the format where he takes each major issue of his presidency and reviews it with a candid and honest approach. It covered the facts and an interesting look inside his white house. The only president with a Master's Degree and the one made most fun of shows he is intelligent and not some right wing fanatic bent on ruling the world as the far left constantly warned. Worth the time, and the fact that he reads the book himself just adds a little something to it.

Better than expected

Not being a Bush fan as president and thinking he was probably not the brightest president we have had, this book was enlightening. I was surprised at how little I actiually knew about Bush and had forgotten the magnituide of the problems he had to deal with as president.

The book was good and Bush's reading was also well done. I think more highly of him after hearing his side of things.

From both a historical perspective and a better insight into what we are dealing with today it was worth the expense and time.

Worth it

It was a good listen. Hard to keep track of some of the names he talks about when discussing the wars, but that is to be expected with his Texas accent.
