Johanne Johansen muss kurz nach ihrem 65. Geburtstag erfahren, dass das traditionsreiche Familienunternehmen – die Elbreederei Kurt Johansen & Söhne – kurz vor der Pleite steht. Johanne, die nach dem frühen Tod der Eltern bei den Großeltern aufwuchs und sich bis zum Schluss um sie gekümmert hat, ist entsetzt und ratlos. Das Lebenswerk ihrer Eltern steht auf dem Spiel und sie weiß, dass sie es ohne Hilfe nicht schaffen kann.
Ihre Cousine Luise Gehrke (geborene Hansen) ist zehn Jahre jünger als Johanne und glücklich verheiratet. Zumindest war Luise davon überzeugt, bis ihr Mann einen schrecklichen Unfall hat und plötzlich ihr ganzes Weltbild ins Wanken gerät. Und jetzt ist auch noch das Familienunternehmen in Gefahr. Obwohl sich Johanne und Luise nur leidlich verstehen, müssen die beiden Frauen sich nun Zusammentun. Denn da beide Firmenanteile halten, müssen sie wohl oder übel die Reederei gemeinsam retten. Die Reeder‘s Tochter
Eine wunderbare Geschichte. Wie die Schifffahrt in Hamburg für Frauen ist. Als Reeders Tochter von Hamburg ist es so erfrischend zu sehen, dass es nicht nur mir so ging. Töchter wurden immer übergangen und nicht als Geschäftstüchtig gesehen. Ob die Palmaille, die Elbvororte oder die Lebensweise, es brachte so viele Erinnerungen zurück. Ganz wunderbar.
Es ist super zu lesen und man fühlt sich als Teil der Johansen Familie.
