Sie kümmerte sich erst um ihre Tochter Anne, dann brauchte Wilhelmine mehr und mehr Unterstützung mit Haus und Hof. Gretes Zufluchtsort ist die Natur, der Garten, vor allem aber das Naturschutzgebiet an der Elbe, wo sie als Vogelwartin arbeitet.
