About this listen
Learn how to master your DSLR camera and take stunning photos effortlessly!
In Digital Photography Mastery, you will find a comprehensive overview of how to control your exposure both with analog and digital cameras. I also talk about how to edit for both modes of working as well.
Here is a preview of what you'll learn:
- Capture as much as possible in camera: No matter the fact that Photoshop and Lightroom are excellent tools for fixing things, you should attempt to learn to make less work for yourself by getting your original image as close to where you want it from the beginning.
- Mastering ISO: This gives you a better idea of what ISO does and how it controls the amount of grain in your images.
- Mastering exposure: This tip explains how to control exposure via aperture and shutter speed, as well as how those two factors affect the final outcome of your image.
- Metering and bracketing: Metering is where you measure the amount of light in a scene before you decide your exposure to shoot it. Bracketing is a technique to make sure you get the correct exposure.
- Shooting modes: There are four shooting modes aside from "Auto" you can use. I explain in what conditions to use which, and how they work.
- Exposure for film: Exposure for film is slightly different, and is dependent on whether the film is color or black and white, and is also dependent on the brand and ISO of the film.
- How to shoot in different light conditions: I review some of the most common lighting conditions and how to shoot in them, from potential mode and exposure, to technique.
- Editing in Camera RAW: Camera RAW is, in my opinion, an underused tool that provides the optimal editing conditions for a photo.
- Editing film for exposure: I'll explain how to scan and edit your film for exposure.

Black and white photography is considered by some to be more difficult than color photography, simply because color ceases to be an element in the finished product. However, it is still an element to be considered while shooting, because color affects what greys, whites, and blacks you get as a result. Black and white can make your photos much simpler, pared down to the basics. This can make photographs appear more serious or scary, or even take away considerations of decade or century.

If you want to create interesting photos that will go above Instagram selfies and vacation memories, you need to switch to manual mode. You probably bought your first semi-professional or professional camera, but it looks so complicated. With all the buttons and switches, new cameras might look scary at the beginning. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. Auto mode is the safest bet, and it served you well up until now.

The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

No one other than Warren Zanes, rocker and writer and friend, could author a book about Tom Petty that is as honest and evocative of Petty's music and the remarkable rock and roll history he and his band helped to write. Born in Gainesville, Florida, with more than a little hillbilly in his blood, Tom Petty was a Southern shit kicker, a kid without a whole lot of promise. Rock and roll made it otherwise.

Story
The New York Times best-selling biography of an American comedy legend. After three years of sobriety, Chris Farley's life was at its creative peak until a string of professional disappointments chased him back to drugs and alcohol. He fought hard against them, but it was a fight he would lose in December 1997. Farley's fans immediately drew parallels between his death and that of his idol, John Belushi. Without looking deeper, however, many failed to see that Farley was much more than just another Hollywood drug overdose. In this officially authorized oral history, Farley's friends and family remember his work and life.

Enjoyed the info, but….
Wish it was longer or more in depth. It is like only one chapter with 9 or 10 tips. My fault for not reading the recording length time. Good thing I used a free credit. It’s a fair refresher course & intro to newbies of DSLR, but Mastery? Um nah, its not that detailed. I enjoyed listening to the narrator though.
