Publisher's summary

With her daughter grown and flown, Nina Romano is ready to embark on a new adventure. She’s waited a long time for dating, travel and chasing dreams. But just as she’s beginning to enjoy being on her own, she finds herself falling for Greg Bellamy, owner of the charming Inn at Willow Lake and a single father with two kids of his own.

Greg lost his first marriage to a demanding career. Now he’s determined to make a new start before it’s too late. Juggling work, raising his young son, and helping his nearly grown daughter face life’s ultimate challenge, he has no time to fall in love. Still, with Nina Romano, love feels just right this time around.

From the award-winning author of Summer at Willow Lake and The Winter Lodge comes an unforgettable story of a woman’s emotional journey from the heartache of the past to hope for the future.

The narrator didn't do it for me

The narrator drove me crazy during this book. I don't think it was intentional but I think she had an accent that kept coming out because it was not consistent. Towards the end of the book I sped up the narration and it helped too. I think she was also reading way to slow. I guess I'll be reading the rest of the books verses listening.

Enjoyable

I selected one of the books the Lakeshore series on a lark from my local library and have gone on to read/listen to the entire Lakeshore Chronicles series. It's and enjoyable series when you are looking for light, easy reading/listening.

Narrator voices distracting

The female characters baby-talk voice almost ruins their part of the story. Good story and much of the performance was good, but both Nina and Daisy talk like they are 5 yrs old. I almost quit listening.

my thoughts jmcd

I liked this book as I like most of the lakeshore chronical books but this book doesn't match the the timeline from the last book with Nina's pregnancy. in the last book Nina rode with jenny Rourke and joey to the clinic and dropped her off to walk home before she told her parents but in this one the boys had already left and her mom took her to the doctor

and this is nit-picky the since the characters are mostly the same from the last book but the voices are totally different and have an accent

Rich development of the characters

Rich development of the characters showing the depth of life decisions during crisis pregnancies. As I watch my own grandaughter laugh and play this author have me a chance to understand what life is like for her young parents. I highly recommend this book.

Enjoyable series, but

The first two books in the this series were great because of the story line and the narrator, Julia Gibson. I listened to this third book because I wanted to complete the series, but the narrator did not make it an easy listen. She is annoying and her character voices are dull.

I Enjoyed It

Although, it was a stand alone book, I wish I had started with the other books first, so I would know the characters. I like hearing about characters that the writer has already written about. Now I will go back read the first two. It was believable--enjoyed the relationship with the two main characters. But I wonder whether the majority of young folk that get themselves in the situation really have that much stamina to go out on their own--they did in this one. This wasn't my favorite performance by Joyce Bean, because I know I have enjoyed her more in other readings.
