Publisher's summary

Don’t get me wrong, but work is a four letter word.

No matter how hard you try to avoid it, it is unavoidable.

In his new writing project, Donkey, Joey Truman manifests a bizarro literary sitcom as sexy romp, as meditation on being trapped in the working class with no way out.

Donkey: an intense journey of self-reflection and inertia.

I Mean, It’s a Romp In Language, Psychosis and Resisting “The Man”

If The Wasp Factory (Iain Banks) and The Third Policeman (Flann O’Brien) had a lonely, demented child outside Casper, Wyoming, the result would be something like Donkey. Trapped in a cabin with little food, facing his life’s demons in a haze of starvation and bipolar hallucination and/or hyper-manifested guilt fantasy, an oil field pipe donkey discovers what it is to pull himself up by his bootstraps in a game one can’t win. Will be loved by folks who dig Deliverance (James Dickey) and A Feast of Snakes (Harry Crews) and Hunter S. Thompson (at large).
