Publisher's summary

Hunter Bragg has one Doomsday under his belt, but he’s nowhere near done.

Along with his impregnated Scavenger mate, Natalie, Hunter travels to yet another dimension, but this one is drastically different.

For one, it’s set in the future, and two, this dimension’s Doomsday hasn’t happened yet.

Their mission? Destroy the evil AI that is set to take over the world.

But before Hunter can actually save this world, he has to find the next Wayfarer, impregnate her, and add her to his harem.

And the clock is ticking.

underwhelming

the flow seemed off to me for some reason. still a great apocalypse story. maybe im just not a fan of the world subjugating conglomerate.

fantastic

this was a fun adventure. the characters are interesting and the world building is amazing. I love the dimension hoping aspect, as that will insure a new adventure every time.

Brilliant Follow Up

With Alexa becoming more and more popular, this excellent episode makes you rerethink AIs... The story makes since, this small team is trying to infiltrate a building to stop an evil AI, instead of three people taking on a planet or galaxy or multidimensional universe! Great characters! The MC is not another stupid couch potato thinking he is in line for godhood. He reminds me more of Chuck, with the secret agent girlfriend. WHERE IS BOOK 3???

Lazy

First, I liked the book. The problem comes with the lazy writing. After a week of training and you haven’t figured out how to discreetly talk with the voice in your head? Why would you talk about sensitive material once you get in a taxi cab? (Spoiler) vending machines can’t rocket things out due to the mechanics (although props for the Maximum Overdrive callback), why would you not think the robot controlled by a server would be a threat and why does an office sanitation robot have a litter picking up tool like it’s the park? Why would the computer programmer not take advantage of route access to servers in a building?

I expect better from Eric. Numbers over quantity does not make your fan base happy.

Fun story

Not bad for your basic harem lit. Plot is nothing new (Think Sliders) but done decently enough to kill 8 hrs on a road trip.
Sex isn't over the top virgin writing.!

Biggest distraction on the audio version is Marissa's inability to do any accents other than U.S. East coast: Posh/Jersey/N.Y. etc, etc.
(Major character is a Montana country girl but Marissa has her speaking like Snookie) very distracting...

Great performance

I can’t get over how much these two performers bring the story to life. A lot is pretty unbelievable around the story line but still entertaining when I drive 7 hours a day really makes the time fly by. Really looking forward to the next book

I like it.

Amazing narrators. I personally love having male and female voice. If they want to improve the experience any further, I hope they add sound effects in the future. I cant name the most memorable moments but a I laughed out loud several times. I hope the author has a part 3 planned in the future. He laid out a lot of rules and ideas. Every dimension cant just have female wayfarers or how would you explain that dimension 1 has a male wayfarer. Also, now that rules have been established, I think the author needs to explore what happens to characters when rules are broken. What happens when a character is transported back to dimension 1 without impregnation? How does a male character get bonded to MC? The rules establish that the MC can hop as he pleases, could he accidentally fail and hop back in time and avoid himself to try to save it again, or could he use that to his advantage to keep an enemy distracted with his past self so he can try something else?

I usually love Mr. Vall’s Work

The first book in the series was good, it was a solid twist/combo on the zombie and nuclear apocalypse. The second... well to start (spoilers) it’s basically an Homage on The Terminator, it’s not bad but it is vary blatant and obvious.
My real problem, all the convenient plot armor. Convenient things happened in the first book as well but they felt natural, a part of the whole ‘split arrow’ theory, like someone was watching out for them. But this is just plot armor, it worked out because... plot, it happens that way because... plot. I know Hunter isn’t supposed to be a pro on infiltration, or exceptionally smart, but you’re think he’d pick up a few thing from all the movies and video games he supposedly seen/played. Seriously WTF their trying to blend in but all they manage is to make a spectacle of themselves, Hunter basically walks around with his foot in his mouth, and Natalie seems to think Subtlety is a kind of cheese. If not for their Indestructible plot armor they’d be dead in the first half.
The ‘suspension of disbelief’ can only cover so much.
I like Eric Valls work, some... ok most of my favorite series are His works. but stuff like this makes it hard to keep listening some times, and just in his work, I’ve listened to a few that pushed it just as if not further.
And I hope this is seen as Constructive criticism, and not just me complaining.
