Good, but not his best
I will buck the trend here and suggest that this book is not Hiaasen's best. I first read "Skinny Dip" and thought it was a better paced and overall funnier book. "Double Whammy" was entertaining and is still a lot of fun, but personally, I think if you've got just enough room for one Hiaasen novel- you're better off with "Skinny Dip". If you're a fan and enjoy his or Dave Barry's novels, then you'll want to read or listen to all his books in any case. Good, (almost)clean entertainment!

Excellent book! Excellent Narration!
I’m a huge Carl fan and his education of “Florida’s subcultures” never ceases to amaze me! It was such a fun ride - I rolled my eyes, I laughed, I theorized and I still never saw that coming. The only other bonus was the narration, he really embodies these characters especially those deep southern accents.

THERE IS NOBODY LIKE HIAASEN
LOVE HIS QUIRKY CHARACTERS AND STORIES. A story every fisherman should read.
You can feel yourself in the grass with the mud beneath your feet just waiting to get hit by a gator.........

Funny and Witty
Needed to backtrack to the first book to this series to find it as fun and interesting as the other works of Carl. Great story and interesting characters keep me listening over by daily allotment. Ready to hit next book on this series.

Terrific
Terrific storytelling from a bygone age. You younger people will be surprised by the racism and homophobia but that's how it was in the '70s and '80s. It was progress showing a diverse cast of characters and acknowledging the unwarranted negative treatment of minorities and non-CIS. The story is fast paced and hilarious. And the good guys win.
