Story
Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist was a wildly successful, innovative, and hilarious show on Comedy Central that ran for six seasons. In it, Jonathan Katz performed as the therapist to a host of big-name comics coming to terms with their neuroses. The amazing cast also included Laura Silverman and Jon Benjamin as regulars, and the show popularized the Squigglevision animation style. In January of 2008, a live version of Dr. Katz was staged with the original lineup and featured BJ Novak, Eugene Mirman, and Andy Kindler as the guest-star patients. This is the result.

Chance, the enigmatic gardener, becomes Chauncey Gardiner after getting hit by a limo belonging to a Wall Street tycoon. The whirlwind that follows brings Chance to his new status of political policy advisor and possible vice presidential candidate. His garden-variety political responses, inspired by television, become heralded as visionary, and he is soon a media icon.

Story
There is a common belief that we live in unprecedented times, that people are too sensitive today, that nobody objected to the actions of actors, comedians, and filmmakers in the past. Modern pundits would have us believe that Americans of a previous generation had tougher skin and seldom complained. But does this argument hold up to scrutiny? In Outrageous, celebrated cultural historian Kliph Nesteroff demonstrates that Americans have been objecting to entertainment for nearly two hundred years, sometimes rationally, often irrationally.

There is no bigger public health story now than the collapse in youth mental health. The numbers are terrifying and dominate our headlines. There has been much debate over how we got here, and what to do next, and bestselling author and social psychologist Jonathan Haidt is at the white-hot center of that discourse. Haidt has spent his career speaking wisdom and truth into the most difficult landscapes—communities polarized by politics and religion, campuses battling culture wars, and now the perfect storm contributing to a public health emergency for Gen Z.

LOVE this series
This has everything I remember loving from this series when it first came out. It made me dig up old episodes on youtube to relive them. Turns out, these new ones might even be better than the originals. Katz is certainly more engaged and witty. Recommended.

Monotone for the win
Great to hear such a wacky, and strange conversation with such a voice by Katz

Eh
Eh. Some of these were funnier than others, but overall I was not very impressed.

I wish they made more episodes
Very funny, I wish they made more episodes. It is so funny I would definitely see these episodes playing on NPR on Saturday mornings. Thank you all for an outstanding performance

Call me.
I am so glad to see that my old psychiatrist has come out of retirement to help those who so desperately need his help as I once did when he was my therapist. Luckily, I am completely cured now, because he never told me that he was practicing again and that’s ok because if he did, I would just say “Oh, that’s great, but I don’t need your help now because I’m completely cured.” That’s how good he is-he completely cured me.
Of everything.
Thank you Dr. Katz, I’m doing just fine. I am doing so fine that you should call me just to see how fine I’m doing.
And congratulations on your un-retirement. Even though you didn’t bother to tell me.

UGH
Quite honestly the absolute opposite of what I had expected. I expected belly laughs but what I got was utter boredom.
