NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, and Charlotte Rampling

Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Muad'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family—and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

A stunning blend of adventure and mysticism, environmentalism and politics, Dune won the first Nebula Award, shared the Hugo Award, and formed the basis of what is undoubtedly the grandest epic in science fiction. Frank Herbert's death in 1986 was a tragic loss, yet the astounding legacy of his visionary fiction will live forever.

Great book, poor narration

The narration is inconsistent as I skips between multiple voices for single characters. Other than that, great listen.

background noise annoying

voices were good but the background noise was continuously ominous making it annoying rather than helping to set the scene. If the story wasn't as compelling as it is, i would have asked for a refund.

Great book, Mixed feelings on the voices.

I really truly enjoyed the book, as deep as it was. as far as the narrators were concerned, I greatly preferred the single narrator to the group narration, but I believe that is up to preference.

enjoyed the book. only criticism is that some of the audio was overblown depending on the voice being used.

great listen

the story can be challenging to follow due to a lot of jargon and character dialogue, but the narration is top quality. definitely worth a listen.

Voice changed

The story is good but this version where they used multiple people to do the same voice makes things very confusing. They needed one person that can do multiple voices or be consistent with the voice actor for a single character.

Intermittent voice actor use

Great book, there only thing I didn't agree with was the intermittent use of voice actors for certain scenes and sometimes for just a sentence or two in a scene. Switching a chargers voice from the narrator and back in a scene can be disconcerting.

Great memories of my youth

My grandmother had gave the series to my back in 74 I had just finished JRR Tolkien’s books and she thought it would be better. Well I only got to read them as o visited and over time I finished Dune but never got the chance to follow up. Later while in the Gulf War I got Children of Dune but never got to finish.
Yeah I’ve seen the movies the mini series enjoyed them for what they were but the narration and different actors made this book of my youth come alive. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the way it was portrayed. Hope the rest is by the same narrator. Can’t wait to get to the next one.
