Publisher's summary

Dungeon Walkers brave the depths of the dungeons for personal gain - clearing a dungeon means dungeon points to purchase gear with, but more importantly, perks. Perks are the main reason Walkers put their lives on the line. Every time a dungeon is cleared the first time, a Walker gets a choice of three perks that could change their lives.

Not every Walker makes it out alive. When someone dies in the dungeon, their soul is fragmented into four shards, which can be purchased for dungeon points. Collecting all four shards and taking them to a temple of the Goddess means the dead can live again. There is a sub-sect of Walkers that makes it their goal to bring the dead back from the dungeons - they’re called the Rescue Squad.

Stern is intent on joining the ranks of Rescue Squad. Finally done with his six months at the academy, he is about to make his first run through a dungeon. It will not be easy - he doesn’t have a crew, or a team, to run it with. Stern is an irregular - someone born with unusual perks - and unfortunately, looking like the blighted. Being seen as blighted has made Stern’s life hell, but he keeps pushing on, intent on making his goal real.

Despite his hardships, he’s been blessed with the unusual perk of his life-long friend, Pawly. Pawly is a polydactyl Maine Coon, who is protective of her friend and eager to help him reach his goal. With his friend beside him, Stern is ready to start his adventure.

(This book contains non-standard relationships and touches upon adult situations.)

Yay Delta World.

Loved the new level system. It was fun to see what happened to the old heroes and start a new adventure.

Not bad but

the majority of the book is pretty good but the amount of romance and sex scenes crammed into the last bit of the book seems like an afterthought/forced and gratuitous. I found myself skipping through looking for any sort of dialogue or action that wasn't sex scene or reminiscing about the sex scene just happened. Don't get me wrong the first few were fine it was just getting old after a while.

don't understand the hate

I don't understand the hate this series is getting in the reviews. my guess is that the people giving bad reviews either haven't read the authors previous work and or don't realize that this is a sequel series of sorts.i enjoyed it. funny believe the hate.

Not bad

The covert art isn't anything special. And it would be better with a male and female voice actor. But on the whole, not a bad story. The protagonist clearly has some secrets, but they only slowly become revealed to the listener (although they're often easy to guess from context.)

The cat is a loyal companion that can be summoned at will. Unable to talk, but capable of understanding human speech. The cat levels up more than the human does, becoming a mighty creature.

We get pretty far into the book before any romantic match ups happen.

Some terms are just adjusted a little bit for this book. Instead of dungeon crawlers, divers or delvers, they're "walkers."
The leveling system tends to be pretty basic; instead of having a wide variety of attributes and skills, each dungeon completed grants the adventurer one from a small list of "perks" (special traits/abilities).

I'll give the second book in the series a shot and see how it goes.

Fun twist on duingeons

This book had a new and fun twist on the generic duongeon diving genre. It took a sort of broken charector and showed how much determination he had. Showed how solid his family upbringing was. Then showed how much he could love. The best part of the book happend in the last 4 or 5 minutes and it was a huge, AH SHIT THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE MOMENT! Give this book a shot, Daniel Schinhofen at his best, and if you enjoy awesome pets this book is for you!

Dungeon Diving with Cats

Ok may be not a lot of cats but only 1.

While this may throw some people off being a "harem", I find it not over the top and still engaging.
