Publisher's summary

Nikki, the Space Mowgli, her valiant Jerry and their friends are in the process of building the new world of justice. The world of AstroNikki is still true to the facts of science, still filled with adventures amid the metallic fogs and “electric dragons” of Venus and the nitrogen geysers of Triton. Yet what can be more important than to find your love, the only and eternal one… Dzintara becomes the President of the World and finds a clue to immortality. Almost every person can now live forever, yet Nikki’s brain rejects the immortality procedure.

One day Nick Gorkavyi, an astrophysicist, decided to write a book he always wanted to read. The year is 2252, apart from Earth, people have colonized the Moon and Mars… His sci-fi novel AstroNikki was an online dynamite. From a review in F5 newspaper

Nick Gorkavyi is primarily known as an astrophysicist, yet his sci-fi novels about the smart and brave Nikki Greenwich revive our hopes for the return of the interest in the truly “scientific” science fiction, and at the same time they are totally thrilling. From a review in Fantasy World magazine

“The author structures the narrative as a kind of trampoline. The first book is a thrilling fairytale about the space Hogwarts, a page turner, a kind of a bait. The second one is more complicated, but still thrilling. Yet the adventures here are punctuated by serious scientific passages: the bait is placed on the hook of learning. The third book is the top of the trampoline, intended for those who’re not put off by the idea of thinking.”

“You know, when I read these books they made me think about everything… before, I thought about people and the world, about nothing being perfect, but this book has kindled by faith in the future… because future is me. As I read, I thought and strategyzed, and with every line the future pictured in the book changed, my concepts shattered, others solidified… that’s the pleasure of reading the book. The final part is better than the previous two! A perfect, beautiful ending.”

“All the three books are much quoted, because apart from science and romance, they’re full of universal human truths.”

“AstroNikki is a person who grew up outside the human society, but managed to understand it better than anyone else.”

“It’s the best social sci-fi book ever. It can be read over and over again.”

“I’m still impressed by the series. These books encouraged, enthralled and made me think.”

“I loved all the three books, I read them more than once, or twice, or ten times, to make sure I haven’t missed anything. I’m still not sure.”

“The best books I’ve ever read.”
From reviews on Livejournals

“AstroNikki has none of the labored primitivism that many books for teenagers are guilty of. There’s no vulgarity, awkward humor, artificial pathos. I wondered where the author got his in-depth knowledge in astrophysics, until I visited his page on Wikipedia. This is a great series. There’s such a wealth of scientific information and philosophy in the format of a book for teenagers – bravo. A whole small life, filled with emotions, problems, dynamics of feelings, family compromises and inevitable passage of time… I will admit that, as I turned the last page of the series, I couldn’t hold back my tears. It’s dignified and beautiful.” From a review on Irecommend
