Publisher's summary
“Obstinate, headstrong girl!”
For over 200 years, the heroine of Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet has enchanted and inspired readers by being that “obstinate, headstrong girl” willing to stand up to the arrogance and snobbery of her so-called betters. Described by Austen as having a “lively, playful disposition,” Elizabeth embodies the perfect imperfections of strong-willed women everywhere: she is spirited, witty, clever, and loyal.
In this romance anthology, 10 Austenesque authors sketch Elizabeth’s character through a collection of re-imaginings, set in the Regency through contemporary times. In Elizabeth: Obstinate, Headstrong Girl, she bares her most intimate thoughts, all the while offering biting social commentary about life’s absurdities. Elizabeth overcomes the obstacles of others’ opinions, not to mention her own flaws, to find a love truly worthy of her - her Mr. Darcy - all with humor and her sparkling charm. “I think her as delightful a character as ever appeared in print...” wrote Jane Austen in a letter to her sister Cassandra, in January 1813, and we think so too!
Foreword by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Tessa Dare.
Stories by: Elizabeth Adams, Christina Boyd, Karen M Cox, J. Marie Croft, Amy D'Orazio, Leigh Dreyer, Jenetta James, Christina Morland, Beau North, and Joana Starnes.
Each anthology in the Quill Collective series is a standalone book.

Story
For Elizabeth Bennet, Charlotte is the friend who is—annoyingly—always right. Colonel Fitzwilliam is the mischievous brother she never had. And if their convictions that Mr. Darcy is in love with her are correct, he could be the lover she’s always wanted. There’s only one problem—he tried to ruin her favorite sister’s life, and she made an absolute fool of herself in front of him. Can lasting happiness come out of such a beginning? And can a man die from chasing a woman too quick to be caught? Darcy is about to find out.

Story
“Mr Darcy, I am eager to hear your explanation for the fact that quite a few people believe we are engaged.” It starts with a bit of well-meant advice. Colonel Fitzwilliam suggests to his cousin Darcy that, before he proposes to Elizabeth Bennet in Kent, perhaps he ought to discuss his plans with their families first. What neither man could have predicted however was that Lord Matlock would write the news to his sister, or that Viscount Saye would overhear and tell his friends, or that his friends might slip a little and let their friends know as well.

Matrimony is the last thing on Elizabeth Bennet’s mind when she arrives at Netherfield Park to tend to her ill sister. Story
Is not the very meaning of love that it surpasses every objection against it? Jilted. Never did Mr. Darcy imagine it could happen to him. But it has, and by Elizabeth Bennet, the woman who first hated and rejected him but then came to love him - he believed - and agree to be his wife. Alas, it is a short-lived, ill-fated romance that ends nearly as soon as it has begun. No reason is given. More than a year since he last saw her - a year of anger, confusion, and despair - he receives an invitation from the Bingleys to a house party at Netherfield.

Critic reviews
“Well paced, with lovely diction and an even lovelier accent, this is an audiobook performance that I could listen to again and again.” (BookWorlder)
“Elizabeth Grace gives the impression of an ensemble cast, not a one woman performance.” (Jorie Loves a Story of #SatBookChat)
“The stories are all beautifully written. Each one feels true to the time in which it is set. The language and speech patterns all feel authentic and natural, which can be a difficult thing to accomplish. In all the stories, both Lizzy and Darcy are, for the most part, well-drawn and realistic.” (Readers’ Favorite)

Great Book, Extraordinary Narrator
What make a great book???
The NARRATION of course! E.G. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I loved the different variations of P&P, But the narrator was so GOOD. I had to get other books by her. She portrayed each character with concise perfection. The Book had so many different ways to look at P&P, I had to adjust to some of the stories... But, E.G. Carried me through.😊

Delightful!
I enjoyed this one tremendously. I’ve already listened to Dangerous to know and Rational creatures from Quill collective and found them entertaining, but this one is almost a perfect win. Every story except maybe the Age of Nescience captured and excited me. There’s something magical about hearing the essence of Lizzy portrayed across time, space and possibilities. I’m sure I’ll revisit this one 🥰

Wonderful Anthology of different Elizabeth POVs
Enjoyed all the different tales of Elizabeth Bennet - some more than others. Narrator Elizabeth Grace is fantastic as always (love how well she does different voices and accents). Personal favorites among this bunch of tales were Love in the Limelight by Beau North (P&P set in the glamour of old school Hollywood), Resistive Currents by Karen M Cox (P&P with an engineering and college setting), and Something Like Regret by Elizabeth Adams (P&P where only Wickham flees Brighton so Lizzy does not leave Derbyshire and Darcy courts her while she’s there).

Surprisingly Unique! Unsurpassed P & P Variation!
I am nonplussed. Simply flabbergasted. What an incredible piece of entertainment. I can't say enough good things about the seasoned writing, the creativity or the narrration. Now it's going to be hard to read any other Austenesque variation, without comparing it to the standard of excellence in this audiobook. Every story held me captive, intrigued me, surprised me and enchanted me. Especially, the last story by Ms. Boyd. I was literally moved to tears. Thanks to all authors and to Ms. Boyd for this collection of stories. I salute the ingenuity and respect for Miss Jane Austen, that permeates every word. To the readers of JAFF, get this book. Don't let it slip through your fingers. It is not to be missed. To Ms. Christina Boyd, PLEASE orchestrate another collective series. Your audience awaits you. Thank you Audible for providing all five audiobooks in the "Quill Collective." Simply outstanding!!
