Publisher's summary

Jack’s throwing a party, and someone’s planning on crashing it. Now that Mira has returned to Lestaron Island, each day has forced him to juggle his place within the small-town community against his own darker impulses.

When Jack receives an offer to ally himself with a group of ancient Valerian vampires living near The Origin, the fabled vampiric homeland, he’s forced to take more than just his own well-being into account. Enemies become allies, lies become truth, and blood flows freely.

For how long can Jack meet the gaze of a monster before becoming one himself?

WARNING: This book contains graphic sex, a slow building harem, and increasingly disconcerting moral dilemmas.

love the book and character's except one.

I love this book and it's series. It is well written and the the MC is a good one. But I hate Kathryn she is such a jerk and so stupid that I just bring myself to love her as much as jack and I wish she was written different.

Better than book two

I enjoyed this one more than book two. Still an inventive story with plenty of double dealings

Cliffhanger that makes you keep wanting more

Really enjoyed the story and how events unfolded for the MC and his brood mother. Can't wait to see what she does to him in the next book.

Awesome third entry!

It's definitely better than the last book. The author is hitting his stride now. Can't forget the fantastic narration as well.

I can't take katie anymore.

I like the story, the world and 99 percent of the characters but Katie. i swear every single thing she does makes me hate her even more. I would keep listening to this series but I just can't listen to her complain and be a complete ass to the main character every single chance she gets. if someone tells me she dies horribly in this book, I'll buy the next one.

Katie sucks

look I like the books they are fun in a dirty way but why is Katie in Jack's life at all? She is a broken bad person, she treats jack like crap and she is a giant spoiled weak girl. I freaking hate Katie by the end of the book I was begging jack to snap her neck. Please kill off Katie or at least have jack stop taking her dumb crap. She is weak dates abusive jocks, never makes choices that matter (stands to the side not looking) She is judgemental and full of herself. She is 100% the cheerleader vapid $#&#@ from high school

Character plot holes

Spoilers

Had hope for this series but the blatant disregard to Katie's constant mortality change was just too frustrating. None of the characters seem to notice or acknowledge her constantly causing issues, like in this book sacrificing all of their plans and sabotaging their cover just for a pointless attempt to save a innocent prisoners life, after previously in the series criticizing Jack for doing the same with the human trafficked women. There are many more issues that stem from her ignorance or poor choices that I could go on about, but it's just the lack of any notice to said points and her attitude towards "monsters" that turned me away from the series
