Story
The saints, the heroes of the Roman Catholic faith, lived lives of holiness, dedicated to serving God. The saints lived at different times in different places throughout history, but they all shared a love of God that has been documented through the teachings of the Church. Today, the saints serve as examples for all Catholics, showing the believers how to lead a more spiritual life. Catholic devotions are particular customs, rituals and practices of worship or in honour of the saints that are in addition to the liturgy of the Catholic Church.

In his most personal book yet, Brant Pitre, PhD, draws on the riches of the Bible, the words of Jesus, and the writings of mystics across the centuries to shed light on the mystery - and wonder - of the spiritual life.

Publisher's summary
The complete text of Pope Francis' encyclical letter on climate change and inequality.
"Nothing in this world is indifferent to us."
"More than fifty years ago, with the world teetering on the brink of nuclear crisis, Pope Saint John XXIII wrote an Encyclical which not only rejected war but offered a proposal for peace. He addressed his message Pacem in Terris to the entire 'Catholic world' and indeed 'to all men and women of good will'. Now, faced as we are with global environmental deterioration, I wish to address every person living on this planet. In my Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, I wrote to all the members of the Church with the aim of encouraging ongoing missionary renewal. In this Encyclical, I would like to enter into dialogue with all people about our common home."

Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Story
The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

Story
The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Perspective on truth of science and modern church
The issues this document addresses (like justice, good chemistry and international economics) are complex but essential when considering the values inherant in the anti-environment positions that have not yet come to grips with newly evolved conditions.

Great Concept, Integration Needing Work
If you could sum up Encyclical Letter Laudato Si' of the Holy Father Francis: On Care for Our Common Home in three words, what would they be?
Ecology as human formation.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The Holy Father draws incredible anthropological truths from observing how we interact with the environment. So many people stop at the edict of "keep the earth green", but Pope Francis urges us to look deeper and to ask the question "why keep the earth green?" And then he provides the brilliant answer: Not only is it good in and of itself, but it forms you into a good human being who can be entrusted with even greater things from God. This insight of his really moved me.
Any additional comments?
Recording papal documents is a great way to help Catholics (and all men and women of good will) to hear the Holy Spirit continue speaking in the world today through our Holy Father. Normally, I only have time to read summaries of papal documents or I start them but get too busy to finish them. This was an easy way to hear the words of Pope Francis which I could integrate easily into my life.
The only thing I would say against it is that I found it odd to have two people reading back and forth. I understand how exhausting papal documents can be to read, but it was a little odd, particularly in the first few minutes, to hear two different readers. I think it might have been more effective, and less jarring, had one of them read it.
In sum: I hope there will be more papal documents available on Audible. It's a great concept and is a great addition to the work of the New Evangelization.

This is a must read
For the sake of humanity and future generations I urge you all to read this book.
A simple, concise, and general account of what we as a species have done and continue to do to our planet through our distructive ways, and a manifesto on what we must do to move forward toward a more thoughtful, sustainable and sustaining world. Timely, considering the exponential lost of biodiversity we are witnessing on our watch, and the greed and arrogance of mankind which is manafesting during recent world events. I enjoyed most of all the inclusion and the reverence shown toward the world's poor. Michael_hall_photographer

Performed like a business book
This performance absolutely kills the book's tone. This is a religious and intellectual document, one of the most important of our time - and it is performed coldly and with only formal expression, as if it's "10 steps to corporate innovation" or something. I'm returning this.

Home Sweet Home
Pope Francis shows love for our planet and the way it provides our sustenance. He tells of our connections to the Earth and each other and our responsibility to pass on to future generations an unspoiled environment.
I read a critical review in the middle of the book. I am glad I completed it. There is more to agree with than take exception to. Loved it and highly recommend it.

skipping others interpretations.
I'm extremely glad that I listened to the writing from Pope Francis, instead of the interpretations from the right or left, to hear what was actually said . It seems the only way that I can trust what was said is to find out myself.

Pope Knows Climate Change
On climate change, the pope is awfully good. He's also persuasive on the evils of greed in the free market. As expected, there's a bit too much of father, son, holy ghost and abortion. Having the readers constantly switching between mail and female was annoying.
