Resumen del Editor

Jesus' final days were full of risk. Every move he made was filled with anticipation, danger, and the potential for great loss or great reward.

Jesus risked his reputation when he entered Jerusalem in a victory parade. He risked his life when he dared to teach in the Temple. His followers risked everything when they left behind their homes or anointed him with costly perfume. We take risks as we read and reread these stories, finding new meanings and new challenges.

In Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner's Guide to Holy Week, author, professor, and biblical scholar Amy-Jill Levine explores the biblical texts surrounding the Passion story. She shows us how the text raises ethical and spiritual questions for the reader and how we all face risk in our Christian experience.

Entering the Passion of Jesus provides a rich and challenging learning experience for small groups and individual listeners alike.

God is good!

God is good! Very eye opening in Jesus' last days. I would recommend to anyone that want to get closer to God, Jesus and the disciples.

Much needed insight!

In my theological studies, professors often said the reformers threw the baby out with the bathwater. Dr. Levine’s work, and not just this book, demonstrates that somewhere in Christian History, we forgot or deliberately threw out the teachings from Jewish roots. Not only is Dr. Levine a wonderful writer whether in academia or popular works, she is also a wonderful researcher with the ability to bring context to the ancient texts that I hold dear. I am on a quest to read everything she has written!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Professor Levine

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Professor Levine for her remarkable lectures on Christianity and Judaism. Her teaching style is truly exceptional, making complex topics both enthralling and easy to grasp. I've had the privilege of listening to many of her classes, including those on the Old Testament and New Testament, and I can confidently say that they have opened my eyes in ways I never thought possible.

The clarity and depth of the information shared have not only enhanced my understanding but have also made me a better Christian and a better person. The teachings resonate with me on a profound level, offering insights that make more sense now than ever before.

I encourage anyone who is even slightly interested to give just one lecture a try. You will see for yourself the transformative power of her teachings.

Thank you, Professor Levine, for helping me finally understand and for guiding me on this enlightening journey.
