Story
The plane is jam-packed. Every seat is taken. So of course the flight is delayed! Flight attendant Allegra Patel likes her job—she’s generally happy with her life, even if she can’t figure out why she hooks up with a man she barely speaks to—but today is her twenty-eighth birthday. She can think of plenty of things she’d rather be doing than placating a bunch of grumpy passengers.

Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Story
For the last 100,000 years, we Sapiens have accumulated enormous power. But despite all our discoveries, inventions, and conquests, we now find ourselves in an existential crisis. The world is on the verge of ecological collapse. Misinformation abounds. And we are rushing headlong into the age of AI—a new information network that threatens to annihilate us. For all that we have accomplished, why are we so self-destructive? Nexus looks through the long lens of human history to consider how the flow of information has shaped us, and our world.

1st time listener lots of great info
I made several bookmarks for different books, a couple for me AND many ideas for my kids! TY! :) It was mentioned that listening to stories around campfires, oral stories, used to be a foot in the door for kiddos to enjoy reading, I bookmarked that spot as well. I want to talk to my husband about using our patio firepit, once a week this summer, all 4 of us spend time around the "campfire" listening to an AUDIBLE!!! ♡
I also appreciate the idea of using mad libs or improv. This is going to help my 12yr old who is an aspiring writer! ♡

Love the Show
Love the show! Listen and enjoy, as well as am entertained! I have my Master's in English Lit and loved your Guilty Pleasures show. :-)
Any chance for a show solely dedicated to one of my favorite guilty pleasures-- Sci-Fi and Fantasy? After all, Tolkien was first a professor of Anglo-Saxon at Oxford. Would love you to delve in to truly well-written Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
Thank you for providing a terrific listen!

Episode 20
I thought it was fun that they had kids in this episode. Since I don't have any kids I'm not interested the books they talked about. It was still a fun listen.

Ok Free Discussion on Kid Books
This was ok. It is essentially a 45 min free podcast advertisement for a few of Audible's children's literature titles, so you can't really expect much. I never got into the Babysitters Club books--a young woman choosing to run a babysitting business seems limiting and boring--so I didn't really get anything out of that discussion. If you are really into children's literature and have almost an hour to spare to listen to editors/authors/readers discuss some of their favorites, then it could be a fun break.
I 100% recommend the Frog and Toad series by Arnold Lobel. They are PERFECT! I had to mention them since they are deservedly discussed in this podcast episode.

Disappointed
Although they were discussing children's books, several of the subjects they were discussing were not appropriate to listen to around young children. I had to stop the recording 1/3 of the way thru to protect my young child. I was very disappointed.
