Exhilarating!

Eternal Dusk took me by surprise. I seriously did not expect such an exciting story and regret leaving it on my shelve for a week. The book has it all, an original premise, mystery, raw intensity, loads of nail-biting action scenes, romance, and an appealing cast. Right from the start, the tone is set, a thrilling rollercoaster ride with Nightstalkers, a vicious interdimensional creature, and a kickass heroine with unique abilities. As for the characters, they were well-developed, bold, and capable, their reaction to the situations was genuine and realistic.

Excellent narration by was Raquel Beattie; she captured the characters' personalities as well as the intensity of the scene. Eternal Dusk was a fantastic listen with enough unexpected twists and turns, keeping me thoroughly engrossed. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook; it was definitely worth the listen! I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Personality issues?

Is this the beginning of a new series? Who will Isabella save next? The story has much potential but couldn’t draw me in. The background is quick and dirty. The darkness, the friendship with David, the Night Stalker bite, all is roughed in quickly, and off we go. Isabella has some emotional problems which are never fully investigated. Between David and the smuggler lover, I’m not sure where her interests or commitments lie. The sex was nice but obviously thrown in for effect. There’s no background on David but he seems young and naïve. Too many loose ends for me. Three.point.five for potential. Great start

This book had my full attention from start to finish. I liked everything about this book. Normally I feel I have questions that were not answered, not the case with this one. The narration was strong too

Curious about the next book

This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author and I would love listen to another in this series. I really like the world created here. The creatures that came from another dimension are dangerous and lethal. I like how Detective Espinoza has enhanced abilities since being attacked by one of these creatures. A corporation trying to profit off of the circumstances is very realistic. Some resolutions to conflicts in the story, I find, resolved a little too easily/awkwardly. Many times I found myself thinking “what, they just got out of it like that?” Regardless, I really enjoyed the story and it held my interest from beginning to end.——-

This is the first book I have listened to by this narrator ( Raquel Beattie ) and I would gladly listen to another. She portrays the main character very well with her interpretation of Espinoza’s take no crap, sarcastic personality. Her other characters are also well done and help me get engaged in the story.

There are a couple mildly described sex scenes. There is violence, but it is not excessively gory, there is quite a bit of swearing.
