Love these Two
Even if you dont know this couple from their popular videos and podcast you should give this a listen. Yes it's a marriage advice book, which I didnt think I needed. Being a fan, I thought Id give it a shot. The books focus is on communication and respect that transcends marriage. Penn and Kim are charming and funny storytellers who also will make you tear up a bit. They didn't so much read the book, as have a conversation. This made me connect with them and there stories.

An absolute must listen to!
The examples presented were easy to relate to. The solutions and advice given were attainable with a simple shift in perspective and the desire to obtain a different result. Though I love audiobooks, I advocate for sitting down and reading a good book. However, there is absolutely no way I would have preferred to miss out on all the commentary and fun energy put into the narration of this book. Great job Holderness Team!

perfect for you if you are person that can word
a person that can word, to me, is someone that is reflective and can put thoughts into words. A person that can word is someone that is interested in the words around them. So, if you can thoughtfully express yourself and thoughtfully listen, then this is a great book for you.
That being said, I can word and my husband can word to if I don't rush him or get mad at him for taking time to think before he speaks. So this book is a good fit for me. That's my caveat.
First, I learned throughout the length of the book. I will listen to it again. It is meaty. Or if you are vegan and that's gross, it is nutrient dense.
I love this book because it is not too long. I would rather listen to it 2x then listen to a 12 hour book. I mean they are not scholars, so when I saw it was 6 hours I thought, right on Kim and Penn!! I can start AND finish this book. And I did.
I love this book because Kim and Pen maintain the side bar and conversations that make their out takes so fun to watch in their YouTube videos. I come for the parody and I stay for the out takes.
I like that they are comfortable enough with themselves to be authentic. I thought they were a perfect best friends too. Now I think they are perfect best friends that are not afraid to go at it full tilt with each other (not in a cruel way) and even going to bed angry (not advice, do what works for you)
but yeah...this, they go to bed angry? This was great for me to hear! You really aren't perfect.
This is a great audio, I would 100% rather listen to this book and then read it, it totally adds to the material.

A real couple working on their marriage
Having Kim and Penn narrate the book was the only way it could be done. You get an inside glimpse of a real marriage. One that has struggled with real life issues and found ways to overcome the bad days and still love each other. Well done. They have inspired me to do the work needed to improve our marriage

Great snippets of marriage advice and entertaining too!
Listening to Penn and Kim feels like sitting down for coffee with friends. Their book is very similar to their podcast but is a deep dive into marriage strategies they’ve learned over the years. Honest and refreshing, a great listen!

Fantastic
Loved this book! It is so wonderful, the narrating was perfect, added so much to the text written, and made me laugh as they always do. This is such an essential book for any couple, and it's not only helpful for couples, but honestly a lot of what you learn from this book can be applied to communicating and all relationships. Their book will help you be a better person in general, not just a better spouse/partner.

Their adlib is priceless! I just finished and I want to start it over again. Ready to do it as a couples study at church, I think it would be amazing. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
