What happened to Dr. Jonathan Brandon, a dashing RAF flight surgeon, who disappeared from London in 1945? Kidnapping? Murder? Or did Brandon merely vanish of his own free will, seeking another life? American teacher Anne Howard is stunned by a different explanation - that her British grandmother's long-lost fiance was unwillingly wrenched back through time to Elizabethan England. Anne knows time travel is nonsense - until she is handed a fresh-cut thornless rose, a bloom extinct for over 400 years.

Any additional comments?
The narration wasn't bad at all. He has an engaging voice, and different characters actually sound different, without being affected and silly.
The book, however... Well, it's pretty much the standard time-travel highlander romance. Girl goes back in time, girl meets and falls in love with highlander, girl gets in trouble, and can't get out of it without being saved by a man. This girl is even more helpless than average, though, hence the mediocre review. A woman can receive help without being utterly helpless and foolish.
Won't be reading anything else from the author.

Absolutely LOVED it...
Any additional comments?
What can I say? Time travel romance novels are my all time favorite.
And guess what? I don't give a damn if the history is correct or not!
If I wanted a history lesson I'd buy a history book.
Iain and Katherine were just a fabulous, as were the adventure, murder, awesome love story and the great sex. Alisdair and Sorcha got exactly what they deserved!
I first read this story December 2, 2011 and I loved it! Just as I loved it the day before yesterday, when I started it again.
As to the narrator: He really did a wonderful job with the voices. However, one pet peeve I have is when the book calls for a whisper and there is none from the narrator. If you're sneaking up on the bad guys and quietly making your plans you just don't talk in your regular tone of voice. You whisper! But most of the readers just don't do that and it makes that part of the book just plain stupid. IMO..
I would also like to say that the description tells us what the book is about or we can zip over to Amazon and look at reviews. This is AUDIBLE! What we need to review is the narrator. Does he or she suck? Why? Is he or she too nasal-y, too sweet for the kind of book he or she is reading, to gruff, too bland, too robotic, lacks emotion. Is he or she doing nothing but reading the book? Not changing his or her voice for the male and female voices? Is the narrator sounding the same whether she or he is reading a whisper spoken?
Most of us on AUDIBLE don't really care what the book is about. We want to know about the narrator! THIS IS AUDIBLE, after all.

A delightful surprise.
Would you listen to Everything in Its Time again? Why?
It is the first in a trilogy which may mean that I'll need to refresh my memory before I buy the next one in the series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ian the manly hero, who is both brave and faithful. Ross Pendleton gives him a very sexy voice!
What does Ross Pendleton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He reads smoothly and with feeling, yet never intrudes upon the story with histrionics. He manages to assume the voice of either gender realistically, together with a genuine-sounding Scots burr. This is an achievement few narrators can pull off. I think I'd seriously consider purchasing almost anything he read.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Virtually, yes. If you count a few hours sleep in the middle, that was exactly what I did..
Any additional comments?
I had low expectations of this book due to a couple of disappointing purchases recently, but this was a little gem. I look forward to further offerings by this author provided they have the same gifted reader.

The first book I have listened to by this author
I enjoyed this time travel story and look forward to continuing the series.
The narrator was good in changing the tember of the voices between the characters.

IT MUST BE EDIBLE.... 'CAUSE I TOTALLY DEVOURED IT
I loved, loved, loved this emotional, enchanting, and enjoyable listen and, if you're a PNR lover, it will have you enthralled and entertained from the beginning as your swept back across the barriers of time and space, along with Katherine, to the Highlands of Scotland where it's 1467. There Katherine encounters a swoon-worthy handsome, sexy, kilt wearing, passionate Laird called Iain and spends one glorious night in his arms and his bed. (Jealous, who me? naa, well not much, ok maybe, oh alright yeah).
Then, as this intense love story, with all it's drama, slowly unfolds you'll get drawn into the utter devotion, despair and desperation the two lovers have to go through in order to finally find true love and happiness together. Apart from a time-travel romance, the gifted author then includes mystery, intrigue, murders, plot twists, villains, battles, kidnapping, betrayal, another romance, great loveable characters and a Brother who'll move Heaven and Earth to help you have your Happily Ever After ending.
RP's narration brings to life the characters infuses their heartaches, their joys, their highs and their lows to the storyline to give you maximum enjoyment.
Worth a credit? When you eventually come to say goodbye to these characters you'll end up being haunted by them, thinking about them and missing them but there's hope.... as this is a trilogy we may well meet them all again - maybe in the past, present or even the future. An awesome, non-stop, totally credit-worthy listen - so that folks is a YES.

Enjoyed this book very much!
What did you love best about Everything in Its Time?
If you like time travel and romance, as I do, this is a very good read. The characters were believable, love she told her brother, never had quite this story line in other time travel novels.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Everything in Its Time?
Her brother knowing what happened to her instead of wondering and thinking she was a missing person.
Have you listened to any of Ross Pendleton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, my first.Looking for a second novel but have been unsuccessful.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it was.
Any additional comments?
Still looking for the second novel..

Twisted time travel
It took a couple of chapters to get use to the time one way and then another.
The author did well developing the dual settings but the romance was far watched and the Main characters could have used more strife.

Quick and interesting read with inconsistencies
Any additional comments?
Okay, so it's time travel and it's necessary to suspend reality. I get that part. This is great in many ways, an old castle in Scotland, happy and knowing older couple keeping it going, earrings passed down through the generations tied to an old love story, woman following her dreams, literally! It's good. Someone should have edited it a little better in that there were a lot of inconsistencies and little consideration to the impact of going back and forth in time, but I still recommend this one for its entertainment value. It's for those of us who read a lot of books constantly, but I wouldn't recommend it for a busy person who needs to be selective about the books you have time to read.
