Farewell, My Deuce

What made the experience of listening to Farewell, My Deuce the most enjoyable?

Listening to Reed and all of his antics. Plus every time he gets in trouble he always asks himself, "What would Bogie do?"

What was one of the most memorable moments of Farewell, My Deuce?

When Deuce was acting like Dirty Harry.

Have you listened to any of Johnny Peppers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, the first book on the series. It took me awhile to get use to his voice, not very film noir-ness. However, then after reading other reviews of the books in this series, I couldn't believe these people were taking these books in such a serious manner.I am a big time film noir buff and the reason I love these books are because everything is comical, including the narrator who does a great job idolizing Bogie and talking about how he wanted to vomit after pulling a gun on someone when Bogie would've had a drink and a cigarette. He is the perfect choice!!!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I Think "Farewell, My Deuce" is perfect!

Any additional comments?

I love these books. I hook them up to my Smart phone and listen to them when I go outside.People think I'm crazy because I find myself laughing out loud. I'll put them on my Kindle and listen when I'm doing housework, or just laying around. I told my husband it's like watching an old movie without the seriousness of it.Keep them coming, and if your reading your reviews, please write one for. "DARK PASSAGE!!!"

A light, entertaining tale.

Not bad for a PI story. This one involves a missing person, and looking into that missing person leads to uncovering construction theft and bid rigging with a murder along the way. It was well-written and easy to follow, with a couple of twists. If I bump into more of these, I will give them a go. 4.5 stars.
