Publisher's summary
Her stalker taught her fear. Her suspicions taught her terror.
Rochelle Cassidy has the perfect life as a radio talk-show host in the Detroit market, but her celebrity status doesn't stop an angry listener from wanting her...dead.
Ed McGrath's ideal life as a pro hockey player doesn't include a damsel in distress until the night he discovers Rochelle being attacked in a deserted parking structure.
Circumstances throw them together in more ways than one when Rochelle's producer plays matchmaker. A sick boy, a corrupt politician, and questionable medical practices put more than merely Rochelle in danger, and still, her attacker shadows her every step.
Will Ed be able to break through her trust issues in order to protect her, or will she continue to see him as Detroit's bad-boy athlete? Her life and his depend on it.

Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

So many story lines
There were so many awkward story lines. It was tough to follow at times. But it was intense and kept me listening an entire day.

Confusing storylines
There are books that have multiple story lines happening at the same time and I enjoy them. This wasn’t one of them. There were times that I thought parts from other books were being read. Maybe it was the reader that didn’t do a smooth transition to the next chapter?
I like the author but this book wasn’t for me.
