Publisher's summary

When Genevieve was sent to the future, she didn’t think she’d be able to fit in. A year later, she has great friends and the chance to go to college - something that wouldn’t have been possible in her own time.

Jenny is just getting the hang of being a princess and can’t wait for her wedding day. What she doesn’t expect is a visit from Maurelle, an evil fairy bent on destroying everything Jenny holds dear.

When Jenny and Genevieve are switched for a second time, they are thrown back into worlds they never thought they’d see again. If they're unable to stop Maurelle in her quest for revenge, they will be forever cursed to remain in a time not their own.

Another curse for girls to battle...

Possible spoilers alert!

Jenny and Genevieve are back - literally. They are back to the times not their own, with families that raised them but weren't really theirs. It's all Maurelle's work - the evil witch never stops plotting... And the girls have to do something about it, otherwise they'll get stuck where they are and will never again be with the boys they've fallen for...

That's the premise of the second adventure of our old friends. This time there's no troll, luckily - but wait, there's something even worse, more powerful and more legendary... The girls will have to go against a real dragon:) And while their main goal is to find a way to switch back to where they really belong, they also try to work out why Maurelle is so much against them and their loved ones.

As in the first part, the adventure is a fun ride, with a fast plot, switching from Jenny's to Genevieve's to Maurelle's points of view. The girls have definitely grown as characters, having learnt what responsibility and compassion mean. The other characters that we previously met take a kind of step back, letting the girls take charge this time - which is a bit of a shame, I'd like Sam and Eric do something more than just be the love interests for whom the girls are ready to sacrifice everything... Still, it is a great listen as it is, and the fact that Sam is the "gentleman in distress" is kind of funny, really:)

As for the narration, I like it in general, though at times in the narrative parts Ms Bannister sounds a little too monotonous and unemotional - more than when she was reading the first part, I feel. She is good at conveying emotions in dialogues, though, so overall it's a 4-star interpretation.

To sum up, it is a very light but engaging listen, which should appeal to all those who love sweet romantic adventures with evil witches/stepmothers/trolls/dragons/whatever-fairy-tale-monster-you-can-think-of :) and a twist of magic in them:)

Great story

This is a great story that is based on a classic fairytale, but then goes way beyond that to make a very interesting, fun read.

Love this series

Murelle is back again to cause havoc on Jenny and Genevieve by switching their places once again after them being where they originally were to belong for a year. Jenny is just about to marry Sam when suddenly Murelle comes to curse her taking her back to the future although happy to see her family she grew up with she can’t stop thinking of Sam and the kingdom. Another awesome read in this series love it!

Wow! What a fun fairytale twist that continues to delight!

Timeless is an outstanding book and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the story continues on Fearless. Please read Timeless before reading this book. You won’t be disappointed! Jenny and Genevieve are adjusting to their new reality when Maurelle manage to switch them again!

Narration was great and brought the story to life!

I cannot imagine how frustrating it is to be in your wedding day and then all of a sudden you are thrown back into your old life! It is a bittersweet moment for both Jenny and Genevieve!

I was pleasantly surprised with all the twists and turns. Several questions I had after reading Timeless are answered in this book. The story sucks you in and keeps you entertained all the way to the conclusion!

If you like fairytales, magic, time travel, a touch of romance and great twists, this fantasy series is for you! I’m so looking forward to the next fairytale twist in this series!

Loved this story

This is the 2nd book in the Lost in a Fairy Tale series, and I recommend reading Book 1, Timeless: A Sleeping Beauty Retelling first, as this is a continuation of that story.

I love time travel stories, and I really enjoyed this one with a twist. Two young women unwittingly trade places – one from medieval times and one from present time. This is a well-told, imaginative story with an engaging plot and great characters and sweet romance. I really liked everything about it.

I listened to the audio version and narrator, Laura Bannister, did a wonderful job

More please! These stories are terrific!!

At the end of Timeless, the first book in the Lost in Fairytale series, I hoped there was more to this story. I was excited to find that there was. Fearless is Book 2. It continues the story of Jenny (raided in 21st Century America) and Genevieve (raised in 13th Century Europe). The girls were switched at Birth and again at 16.

Fearless takes place close to a year after the end of Timeless. Each girl has settled into her new life although each miss aspects of her previous circumstances. Jenny misses indoor plumbing, soft toothbrushes & mint toothpaste and ice cream! Genevieve misses gowns that cover her whole body, riding her horse and the beautiful lush scenes surrounding the castle. But, Maurelle, the evil fairy who switched them at birth, wasn’t done with them. The troll who switched them back when the girls were 16, had derailed her plans.

I was thrilled to find Fearless answered most of the questions that bothered me at the end of Timeless. Why was Maurelle so obsessed with Jenny / Genevieve? Why did the King and Queen not know who she was therefore, not inviting her to the Christening in the first place? There are many surprises, twists and turns, as well as joy and sorrow. What a fantastic adventure. I was truly wrapped in the story and the characters.

If you enjoy fantasy, magic, time travel and fairytales, this series is an excellent choice. Laura Bannister does a great job in narrating the story. It can be difficult in developing voices for so many characters, especially when varying accents are needed. She was able to maintain these and characters were recognizable by their voices.

I received a copy of the audiobook, at my request, in exchange for an honest review. I am more than willing to do so as I truly enjoyed these stories. Kudos to Jaclyn Weist!

Cute, modernized fairytale story

Fearless by Jaclyn Weist is Book 2 in the Lost in a Fairy Tale series. Though I haven't listened to the first one, I got enough of a backstory that I was comfortable and understood what was going on in Book 2. Jenny and Genevieve switched places, and time periods in the first book. The story continues right at a pivotal point and they're both suddenly thrust back into their original homes, though they both kind of want to be switched back. This is a fun, innocent twisted fairy tale that shouldn't offend anyone and is safe for younger readers. I'd still recommend listening from the first book if you can though, as I definitely would have enjoyed knowing all of the backstory that I would have learned by listening to the first one.

Laura Bannister did a great job with the narration and her voice fit the girls ages. She brought the perfect amount of emotion to her performance and it definitely led to a believable performance. I'd definitely listen to her narrations in the future. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.
