Thanks for a new way of looking at marriage communication

The ideas in this abridged version opened a new way to look at my own role in communication when I wanted to find fault with my spouse instead of myself. We both understand each other better now.

Great Summary of Marriage Success Strategies

I love his approach to counseling. It is a combination of teaching and coaching. many counselors focus on the past and how someone feels

    Wonderful . . . just not enough

Clearly there are some powerful tools suggested here! But it is so sparse that it felt more like an advertisement—leaving me interested and wanting more. For example, Mr. Townsend says that in his coaching with couples he spends many hours discussing “head, heart, and hands,” yet we get only five minutes. It felt more like an outline than a developed set of principles that can be readily utilized (without going to Mr. Townsend for coaching).
