About this listen

When Janet Howard's 25-year marriage fell apart, her life came crumbling down. As she sat in the rubble, she realized that the only way to move forward was to confront a painful past and learn to let go.

Leaving her 33-year career, Janet headed to Hawaii to put an end to what was and find the beginning of what's next. Embarking on a vision quest, she immersed herself in the natural world and received a message of trust and divine guidance. She started to see nature as a safe place to learn valuable lessons for navigating life and healing. Janet offers hope and insights through inspirational essays and heart-centered stories to help others feel less alone with life's challenges and instead embrace difficult life experiences as initiations, offering wisdom and hidden gifts.

On her spiritual journey, Janet realized that creating real change in the world, whether environmentally, socially, politically, or spiritually, starts with ourselves. Heal ourselves, heal each other, and heal the world.

Beautifully written and inspiring. Loved it!

'Field Notes on Letting Go' is a big beautiful hug to ourselves and the natural world around us, and a reminder that the two are infinitely connected. Howard artfully illustrates that life's lessons surround us, and she shows us where to look for them. Our teachers are often in the most obvious places, making sense of life, backing us up and illuminating our strengths.

After reading, I was inspired to order Howard's companion 'Field Notes on Letting Go Workbook.' It has great prompts, focusing on you and your journey.

I love my book

Writing my story and listening to it is healing. I am getting bored of it - which is my goal. The story is no longer mine. I no longer live the story - I am the story teller. I wish the same for you. The accompanying Pondering Workbook has writing prompts for deep exploration of your past, present and future. Use it to wrote Your story. Record it. Listen to it. Listen to it i til it bores you - until it is no longer yours. Then, let it go. Sat nam, Janet Howard

Powerfully authentic & tenderly vulnerable memoir

I found this memoir to be a very relatable and inspiring exploration of healing and self actualization. Anyone interested in exploring experiences of growth, seeking and self-healing will find inspiration here. Each chapter can be a stand alone read, and together they offer a honest and moving mosaic. I loved the author's narration, it felt like deep story telling sessions with a kindred spirit. I especially appreciated learning about her journey establishing a thriving daily spiritual practice. I highly recommend this!
