Final Awakening

Andre Schmidt has one outstanding talent—killing people! An Iraq war hero, he returns to a country that has no use for the skills he acquired as a soldier. Chronically unemployed and out of his element, he is driven back to drink and begins to follow a life of crime. Eventually, he ends up in a tough, overcrowded prison, where only his military skills can keep him alive. His only reprieve from his harsh reality is found in his dream life.

Along with dozen other inmates, he is chosen to participate in an above-top-secret experiment that is code-named "Lazarus." Andre soon discovers the government's secret agenda—to ensure the survival of the U.S. Government after an inevitable nuclear war. To test "Lazarus," Andrew and the others become human guinea pigs, and they are cryogenically frozen in a vast underground complex. They were to be there for only a few months, but something went wrong—terribly wrong.

The men are eventually found in the remote underground facility only to discover that they have been awakened to a new life as well as a new world—1000 years later! They are embraced by a curious, highly technologically advanced, complacent society that has no fear of evil, because there is no such thing in their perfect world. But, evil must must exist, even if just beneath the surface of the human psyche, and Andre soon finds he has yet another enemy to fight, this one unlike any he has ever come up against.

Andre quickly finds himself having to choose between good and evil, fighting both flesh and blood and the spiritual evil that has been torn from the earth for a thousand years. In the ultimate good-versus-evil battle, Andre must decide which side he is on. And the father of the entire known world lies in the balance.
