About this listen

Much-loved storyteller Karen Kingsbury’s Baxter Family books have captured the hearts of tens of millions of people who have come to think of the Baxter family as their own. Now Karen Kingsbury and her son, Tyler Russell, inspire and entertain young listeners by going back in time to tell the childhood stories of the beloved Baxter children - Brooke, Kari, Ashley, Erin, and Luke.

Summer is over, and Dad begins his important position at an Indiana hospital. Like it or not, Bloomington is the Baxter Family’s new home. As school starts, everyone finds reasons to be excited about the move. Everyone, that is, except Ashley. Ashley desperately misses the home and friends she left behind. As she realizes her siblings have their struggles, too, she can’t help but wonder if unlikely friends can be the best friends of all? And could time and love from her family be enough to make a house feel like home?

In the second book in the Baxter Family Children series, number-one New York Times best-selling Karen Kingsbury and Tyler Russell tell the funny and poignant tale of the Baxter children finding home!

I really liked the second book. I’m glad I got to hear more about Kari . I really felt Ashley’s struggle to fit in. A very good book!

We enjoyed the first book Best Family Ever, but this one held enough conflict with great resolution it made it more than Fiction. It made it worth the message.

Amazing book

This book is so amazing! It inspired me to tell my family what I am feeling. When I finally finished the book, I was so sad, but happy at the same time because I couldn't wait to hear the next book in the series. I think that every one should listen to the hole series.

Finding Home

I was glad to listen to this book One of The Baxter Children at this beginning. Since I had already listened to all the stories of the family grown, it did not interest me all that much. I loved this mother and father so much as they raised these five children.

The Narration was strange, not all that well done for the early aged children. What I did enjoy was the beginning of the family road trip leaving the earlier home and coming to the well known Bloomenton, Ind. town. Made me think of my early family trips of our children asking not knowing of what the new home was going to be like. I am sorry that I have not given better ratings for this one. I always give five stars on the Baxter books, but for me it was rating for just myself. Please do listen and judge for yourself, you readers.

It did not mention that the home also had a pond for them all to enjoy as they had in all the other books. The pond was the setting for many of other book chapters. Much land that they were not used to with a very special large rock for climbing, large enough for them all to gather on.

The last chapter was difficult listening and a poor ending. Just my opinion and others may not agree with me. Adults making their voices of the different children must have been difficult I am sure.
