About this listen
Finn Featherstone, once a puny outcast, is now a Champion in training.
Resting in the baldric across his back is none other than Jigsaw, a magical weapon with untold possibilities. This odd instrument of power is one of the hundreds of swords known as Bizarre Blades, a unique and priceless weapon that Kings have sold their Kingdoms just to obtain. Having been stranded in the freezing woods of Shimoshimo, Finn trains hard day in and day out while trying to survive in the deadly weather. All is going decently until his companion, a black feathered Microraptor with an attitude goes missing. Finn then ventures from the safety of his camp in search of his little friend of which he hears crying out in the night. If only he knew what dangers awaited him in the dark woods.
Finn's story is a prequel to The Bizarre Blades series.

Love me some dinos
Definitely will read more of this series. Dinos are so underused in fantasy worlds and this one looks like a lot of fun.

A great prequel; now I HAVE to get the series!
In this prequel to the Bizarre Blades series, Finn has been training for three months in the frozen woods of Shimoshimo. Worried about his companion, the micro-raptor Obsidian, and having heard him crying out in the past several nights, Finn has decided to go out and find Obsidian.
With a potential blizzard on the horizon and Jigsaw on his back, Finn sets out in the direction he'd heard Obsidian's cries... and toward more dangers than he realizes.
This was a good prequel. I have not read or listened to any of the books in the Bizarre Blades series, but just the little bit the blade was mentioned in this prequel was enough to catch my interest and I have now added the series to my TBR list.
The narrator, Kevin Kemp, also did a good job with the prequel, and if I get the chance, I look forward to listening to him narrate the novels in the Bizarre Blades series.
If you've read part of the Bizarre Blades series, I imagine you'll also want to read or listen to this prequel. If you haven't read some of the novels in the series, then this is a good was to dip a toe in the series, as it were, and see if you might also like to read and/or listen to the series.
