About this listen
Fire Investigator Sadie McGregor has been called to her hometown of Emerald Point, Missouri to investigate a suspicious fire which claimed the life of a local college student. Sadie loves her job and the challenges that come with it, but this case may turn out to be her toughest as she is forced to come to terms with the fire that destroyed her family when she was a little girl.
Quinn Harrington is no stranger to grief. After losing his wife to cancer, his strong faith helped him through that dark valley. When he meets Sadie and learns about her past, he is determined to prove God still loves her. As they team up to solve the case, Quinn and Sadie must determine if the fire was accidental, an insurance scam gone horribly wrong, or something even more sinister. The answer may cost one of them their life.

It was inescapably chilling, as if the murderer was methodically working his way down a page torn from the phone book. The three victims brutally killed in their own homes had one thing in common: They were all listed as M. Douglas. The fact that Mara Douglas is next on the list has her jumping at shadows, until FBI agent Aidan Shields shows up to make sure she doesn't become the fourth victim.

Sweet romantic mystery
If you could sum up Fire and Ash in three words, what would they be?
Clean, romantic mystery.
Would you be willing to try another book from Anne Patrick? Why or why not?
Yes. Although the characters could have been developed deeper, and the romance seemed to be rushed, the plot line was interesting. I like the fact there was no swearing and I didn't mind the exchange of no foul language for a bit of preaching and faith.
What about Leonor A Woodworth’s performance did you like?
I enjoyed Leonor Woodworth's performance. Her female character voices were very well done. He male voice could be a little more complex, they started to sound the same.

Love.....From the Ashes.
This is a Christian romance that is a perfect blend of suspense, mystery, romance, and faith. It is a believable story and I appreciate the fact that the author put a lot of research into firefighting and investigating fires. The story shows real tragedy in life, the true emotions that arise from grief, and how God is there to help us through struggles if we ask Him. The romance builds ‘from the ashes’ and progresses into a love that’s so innocently tender that you can’t help but smile.
I love a book where the narration doesn’t get in the way of the book. I have to give a shout out to Leonor A Woodworth for doing a great job narrating this story. She enhanced the story’s enjoyment and made this book a pleasure t listen to. ;-)
If you are looking for a great 4.5 star faith based book then give this one a try. I will be keeping a look out for more by this author.

Loved this book!
Fire and Ash is the second book that I have listened to by author Anne Patrick and I look forward to many more. My favorite genre is Christian Fiction Suspense and this book filled the bill! There's the mystery with romance along with faith. I love reading or listening to a book that makes me feel good about my Christian faith without the feeling of being preached to. I will be looking for more books by Anne Patrick as well as books narrated by Leonor A Woodworth, who did an amazing job giving voice to the characters.

Clean read with lots of action
I really enjoyed this audio book. After just returning two books without finishing them due to excessive bad language and graphic sex. I really appreciate that this story contains mystery, suspense, humor and romance, and the author realizes that I can figure out someone is a bad person because they do bad things without having them use the "f word" every other sentence. Plus healthy as well as unhealthy families are portrayed and God is realistically portrayed rather than blamed for all bad events. I highly recommend it!

Anne Patrick does a fantastic job of bringing the character Sadie to life. I love how the author allows the reader to understand the inner struggle with life and God and all that entails.
