Set amidst the lavish landscapes of the Hamptons and Palm Beach, Justine, a divorcée of considerable means, finds herself ensnared in a labyrinth of secrets and emotional upheaval. Her life of luxury is abruptly disrupted when she becomes embroiled in a deeply personal quest for retribution.
Within her affluent social circle resides Robert Bradbury, a titan of wealth who has dedicated the past twenty years to the relentless pursuit of his daughter, Caroline, tragically ensnared in the clutches of trafficking long ago. With unwavering resolve, Robert has assembled a cadre of former CIA operatives to assist in his dogged pursuit.
When a breakthrough finally materializes, and a lead on Caroline's whereabouts surfaces, Robert presents Justine with a daring proposition fraught with risk. He implores her to assume the guise of the woman accountable for his daughter's plight, convinced that this covert operation holds the key to Caroline's liberation. Though hesitant, Justine acquiesces, driven by her compassion and the opportunity to effect real change.

Great first novel!
Flight of the Starling is full of suspense and intrigue that keeps you riveted as Justine, an initially uncertain protagonist takes on the most challenging role in her life. As the novel unfolds, Justine is thrown into the seamy world of Middle Eastern trafficking and all the dangers that it holds. By all means, read or listen to this terrific first novel by Christine Merser and Carol Rea. We can't wait for the sequel!
