Publisher's summary

Sunshine State trivia buff Serge A. Storms loves eliminating jerks and pests. His drug-addled partner Coleman loves cartoons. Hot stripper Sharon Rhodes loves cocaine, especially when purchased with rich dead men's money. On the other hand, there's Sean and David, who love fishing and are kind to animals - and who are about to cross paths with a suitcase filled with $5 million in stolen insurance money. Serge wants the suitcase. Sharon wants the suitcase. Coleman wants more drugs... and the suitcase. In the meantime, there's murder by gun, Space Shuttle, Barbie doll, and Levi's 501s. In other words, welcome to Tim Dorsey's Florida - where nobody gets out unscathed and untanned!

Start here…

You’ll read all kinds of reviews criticizing the narration of the characters for this series. Start here at book one and work your way forward. I’ve been through the series multiple times, when the voices change later on I initially didn’t like it but going back through it starting at book one I’m like “that isn’t Serge and Coleman”, enjoy it in order, it’s worth it!!!!

Brilliantly Disturbing

Some books need to be heard, not read. George Wilson made this book a treat to listen to with his deadpan, nature documentary delivery punctuated by Serge’s Cliff Clavin-like recitation of Florida trivia. Bring on the next one!

5 out of 5

What a great story! Funny as all get out and told in such an entertaining and delightful fashion.

I love Serge and Coleman.

SPOILER ALERT: I can't believe Mr. Dorsey would have an important character such as Coleman killed in the first book. I hope it's all a tragic mistake and maybe it wasn't Coleman in the room at the Pelican Inn.

Truly funny passages

Tinged with a sarcastic and truthful perspective of humanity, this is a fun -albeit violent- read.

Torn review

After I thoroughly wash my brain from all the mayhem in this book…. I can say “it’s definitely not boring”. It’s pretty confusing and I could stand to reread it to clear up all the details I missed , but I’m not sure I want to…

Detailed description of Florida

Begins with vivid description of Florida as a State. While introducing characters... it's hard to set down.

Soap box

It starts out well, but gets a little preachey. I am disappointed that the author used this book to express his views on gun ownership. After all his main character is a serial killer!
