Publisher's summary
Fun House is the latest novel in the award-winning John Ceepak mystery series, set on the Jersey Shore.
What if a reality TV show like Jersey Shore set up production in the fictional seaside resort Sea Haven? What if hitting the gym, tanning, and doing a little laundry aren't the only things the contestants get into? By-the-book officer John Ceepak and his wisecracking young partner, Danny Boyle, have to babysit the buff and boozy kids partying it up in a Jersey Shore rental house for TV’s summertime hit Fun House, while simultaneously trying to stop the rowdy kids from breaking the law up and down the beach. But even Ceepak and Danny can’t stop one young cast member from being murdered - and others from being threatened with the same fate.

In Savages, Don Winslow introduced Ben and Chon, twentysomething best friends who risk everything to save the girl they both love, O. Now, in his high-octane prequel, Winslow reaches back in time to tell the story of how Ben, Chon, and O became the people they are. Spanning from 1960s Southern California to the recent past, it is a tale of family in all its forms. As the younger generation does battle with drug dealers and crooked cops, they learn that their future is inextricably linked with their parents' history.

Story
It's been said that all great literature boils down to one of two stories—a man takes a journey, or a stranger comes to town. While mystery writers have been successfully using both approaches for generations, there's something undeniably alluring in the nature of a stranger: the uninvited guest, the unacquainted neighbor, the fish out of water. In the newest collection of stories by the Mystery Writers of America, each author weaves a fresh tale surrounding the eerie feeling that comes when a stranger enters our midst, featuring stories by prolific mystery writers.

Always fun, fast read
Amusing believable plot with lots of action. So far in this series the main characters are maintaining and improving.
Narrator and series are very well matched narrator does another smooth job with what is probably a difficult cast of characters .

Another great Ceepak Story
Fun House continues the Ceepak series in fun and exciting fashion. This being the seventh book in the series you know what you’re going to get. As always the story delivers some twists that you didn’t see coming along with some fun at the expense of those stereotypical folks down at the Jersey Shore. If you’ve liked the others in this series (or enjoy making fun of folks on reality TV) you’ll enjoy this book.
As always Mr. Woodman does an excellent job with his Jersey Shore portrayal.

A reliable series
I love this series. These are not books I would pre-order and listen to as soon as they came out, because they're not quite that riveting, but they're reliable, in a "relaxing weekly cop show" kind of way. When I can't find anything I want, or I'm just a bit bored, I'll look for another one of these.
Great characters and dialogue, and cool different story lines each time. Not a town you want to live in with that rate of murder though.

Fun House
I really like this series. The characters are interesting and quirky. The stories move along at a fast pace and keep me thoroughly engaged during my commutes. The plots may be a bit of a stretch but they work well with the overall theme of the series. Don’t dive into these books expecting the next timeless classic because that’s not what they’re meant to be. However, if you’re looking for something fun and a little different, try this series by Chris Grabenstein. I haven’t been disappointed yet.

Would you listen to Fun House again? Why?
Funny! The mystery is great. John Woodman is the best narrator. It listened to the whole series in just a few weeks.

Fun House -- Another Fun Addition to this Series!
I really enjoy these John Ceepak novels and have listened to them all. This one, like the others, has a good mystery for Ceepak and Danny to solve as they entertain us with their quirkly, but very likeable, personalities. If you are looking for a light, fun listen that will keep you interested from the very start, these books will not disappoint.

Very entertaining
What did you love best about Fun House?
I love all the John Ceepak books. They are very addicting
What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His narration is spot on and is one of the main reasons that I listened to this series.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Behind the scenes at the beach
Any additional comments?
I don't think you can stop at just one book in this series. It is performed so well you won't want to stop at just one.

I love the ceepak series
I have listened these books in order so far and I love them. I think there’s only one more so I’m kind of sad to get to the end. If thoroughly enjoyable and funny books. One of my favorite series.

jeff woodman was not trying as hard
the overall action was all but seat grabbing, if not predictable. but jeff woodman's narration towards the end was almost the opposite of a cliff hanger ending, plus there wasn't any outro music and that I found most disaffective.
