Publisher's summary

Time is a fickle thing. Is the future as fixed as the past?

Cassie and Helen are twins spawned from a bolt of lightning that struck their mother while she was pregnant, as if from Zeus himself, or so their mother told them.

Like millions of other twin’s they share a special bond.

However, their bond is unlike any other, for Cassie remembers the future while Helen experiences the present. A fact the girls and their mother have kept secret from the world.

As Cassie and Helen head off to college their lives are about to be irrevocably changed forever.

good read

the narration is echoed, but the story is good, most will like it once you get past the echo.

Really Good but Needs A Sound Editor

So I need to start off by saying that the narrator really did a great job but my biggest complaint is that you can tell this book never went through a good sound edit. There are times it's either hard to hear because it's muffled or it goes the other way and echoes.

As for the story, it had a fast pace with some time lapses that work well for the story. One twin sees the past and the other one sees the future and they basically go on adventures. My daughter (13 year old) read this one too and said she really liked it but also said to be ready for an emotional rollercoaster... which means it's a book that may make you cry. There was some language including one f-bomb but no sexual content.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Squandered an interesting premise

First, the audio quality. It was so bad that I have to mention it right up front. I have literally never heard a book on Audible that was recorded so poorly. It sounded like it was recorded underwater in places, and nearly garbled to the point of unintelligibility in others. There were also places where a little editing would have been very appropriate (the narrator correcting misstatements and such). It felt like no one went back and listened to the final version before upload, or else surely they would not have allowed it to be released in this form.

Sorry for that rant. Other than the audio quality, I was still not on board with the narrator. It was hard to distinguish some of the characters, and the emotions felt wrong at times.

Now, finally, for the actual story. It was an interesting premise, which is why I listened to it in the first place. One sister remembers the past, like "normal" people, and the other remembers the future (but can't remember what happened just a few minutes ago). Compelling, right? The start of the story was too, and it felt like we were on the cusp of a well-plotted, interestingly woven story. But, it really felt like the author squandered a great premise and great start to the story to me. It could have been so much more. Honestly, I think he could have probably made an entire novel out of it. Instead, it felt almost trivial, what he decided to do with it. Maybe I'm out in left-field and others will disagree. After all, your mileage may vary.

i received this as a review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Geminus

The story might have been good,I do not know because I couldn't get past the horrible sound quality and the Narrator sounding like she was telling a fairy tale to children.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
