Andrew Garfield brought 1984 Alive

I bought this book recently and something told me to wait for the audiobook because it seems like a book that Andrew Garfield would read and sure enough a few days later I find out Andrew is voicing an audiobook and this made me get an audible subscription for the first time. This book is a masterclass on how to write a dystopian world. From censorship to paranoia I was hooked from beginning to end.

The story was alive.

The cast brought the story to life! Voice inflections coupled with just enough sound effects (too much can be worse then none at all) made the story feel interactive (you could easily picture the scenes) and riveting in places.

What a wild ride! I've read the book before but this, this was an experience!

Feels eerily similar to today somehow

Enjoyable listen (I am new to audible so this was my first ‘free title’). Exciting and engaging throughout the book

A great performance

The cast was stacked, but it was a great performance. Even though it’s been done, this version of 1984 would be made into an excellent movie. As always, this story keeps you on your toes, and leaves you looking over your shoulder to see if Big Brother is watching.
