fun for the teenage boy in your head

What does Brian Rollins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

this is randomly specific, but the narration reminds me a lot of marshall eriksen from how i met your mother. totally nuts, right? i guess they both have this dumb jock intonation sometimes that makes me chuckle.

If you could take any character from Glen & Tyler's Honeymoon Adventure out to dinner, who would it be and why?

glen or tyler, because they'd be buying.

Any additional comments?

this book is basically about what you'd do if you had a bazillion dollars. you'd want to have a secret lair, and an island, and a professional hockey team, and like nine banks, and you'd have a sweet wardrobe, a limo driver and enjoy making homophobes and all other idiots look dumb.

This was a fun book to listen to.Brian Rollins narrates, and does a fine job.Tyler needs to be married to get his inheritance,so who proposes? His best friend,Glen! They realize they mean it,inherit a lot of cash and do a lot of good with it.Unfortunately there is a plot to do away with them.Thru ups and downs we follow the guys in the hijinks.

Just fantasy and fun

This is a nice summer book to relax to and make you smile. It is light and frothy in tone with an action adventure plot. I enjoyed it. This is g-rated for sex and violence.

It's like a train wreck, but in a good way?

An unlikelier story line I've yet to come across. Dishevelled college jocks get married to inherit more money than god, fall in love at the alter and then flit around the world foiling cruise ship pirates. Really? Pull the other one!

That said, there's something about the subtle humour in the story line that keeps you listening - like a bad 80's Bond flick, awfully compelling. Really really awfully compelling.

Something was missing. The sex. The author skirts around the idea, innuendo here, suggestion there, but never really gets down to it. And I think the story is the worse for it. I'm not suggesting that the he launch into a detailed blow by blow (yes I did it) account every couple of pages, but the one thing that COULD be believable in the narrative, just isn't there.

And my last gripe then - the narrator. Sounds like he's gasping for breath every few words. Other than that, he's actually pretty good. How he voices different characters is especially good and I think that with a little practice, he's going to be great.

good first book

We will see if next book is better, I like the characters but it has the tendency to be a little campy.

A fun romantic comedy

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the fact that the book was light and happy. Yes, there was drama re: Tyler's family but for the most part it was just good fun.

What does Brian Rollins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked the fact that Glen and Tyler were just normal guys who happened to by gay. No biggie! Mr Rollins' narration is perfect for this book. He gives the guys each their own voice and has a knack for drawing you into the story. I look forward to listening to more work by Mr. Rollins.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

In the beginning when Glen was coming around to his feelings for Tyler. In fact, Glen went back to an old friend whom he used to tease for advice. Glen was just wanting to be sure of his feelings.

Any additional comments?

Glen and Tyler's Honeymoon Adventure is a great way to start a series. We meet Tyler just when he is about to turn 25 and needs to get married to inherit his trust fund. With no prospects in sight, Glen asks Tyler to marry him. Once they are married, Glen and Tyler both realize that this feels natural and are happy with the marriage Tyler is shocked to find that his trust is worth more that he ever expected. They are both getting used to the amount of money that they now have when attempts on their lives start to happen. Who is behind these attacks and will they be caught?

I really liked this book. I feel like Mr. Sanders knew that we needed a m/m romance that wasn't all tragic or where one of the characters came to the relationship 'broken'. This is a light and fun story filled with mystery, comedy and most of all LOVE.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story. All love scenes are modest and sweet. I am looking forward to the next story in the series.

I couldn't press stop

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. This was a great and fun story that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for some mindless, cheesy romance with a thrilling twist.

Would you recommend Glen & Tyler's Honeymoon Adventure to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes. This was a great and fun story that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for some mindless, cheesy romance with a thrilling twist.

What three words best describe Brian Rollins’s performance?

accent artist, mostly clear, unnatural cadence

If you could rename Glen & Tyler's Honeymoon Adventure, what would you call it?

Glen & Tyler's Happy Endings

Any additional comments?

Tyler's character was performed more feminine than the text predicted, but I liked how Greg sounded like such a boneheaded jock. The performance was pretty good; the accents were the strongest feature, while the unnatural sounding dialogue was detracting. It sounded as though there were too many commas in the dialogue.

The story was at time saccharine and completely unbelievable. I don't know where to start; the snap marriage, constantly explaining financial wealth, the stock investor's meeting, the hockey showdown, Tim... The story resembles a daydream at times where the main characters get everything they have ever wanted, weakening the story arc containing the conflict. The story's strong features included rich explanation of surroundings, seemingly viable business and technical discussions and action sequences explained in a realistic manner.

G&T is the perfect bedtime story for adults looking to unwind with a story that is none-too-serious. I'm buying part two right away.

Feel Good Fun, Craveable Characters, Great Reader!

Re-envision the Hardy Boys as a young, gay male married couple. Give them enough power & money to make Solomon blush. Throw in some James Bond and some good humor and you've got Glen & Tyler.

This is a feel-good, brain-candy delight, and in a world of gay fiction that sometimes seems to be almost exclusively filled with drama, *drama*, and porn I find myself deeply grateful for it. Glen & Tyler are charming characters that you can't help but root for as the story unfolds. You know you're on a roller-coaster that's not going to go off the tracks, but it's still a fun ride. JB Sanders has done us a service by bringing us this story--and, I hope to discover, those that follow it--I laughed out loud repeatedly as I listened greedily. I earned rueful smiles from my husband and puzzled stares from guys the next treadmill over; I simply couldn't stop the story. It was light-hearted, fast paced, and fun.

Brian Rollins does an astonishing job as the narrator. Many readers are good, but Mr. Rollins succeeds in adding dimensions to a simple, fun story that elevated the whole experience, bringing every emotion and attitude very much to life. It was his performance, as much as the feel-good tale, that kept me grinning throughout this experience.

I will be looking both for more Glen & Tyler tales and checking out what other works Brian Rollins may have performed.
