Publisher's summary

The gang from The Last Stop Retirement Community is back in 12 hilariously inspiring short stories and 14 new issues of "The Last Stop Bulletin"!

"Finders Keepers": Find out what happens when new resident, Benji Little, takes to the halls with his FX-458 Gold Digger X-treme Model 2 Metal Detector.

"The Senior Games": Who says you have to take it easy when you get older? Former Olympian, Byron Williams, puts together the first annual Senior Games, complete with 100-yard dash and shoe kick. Byron is sure to make a clean sweep, but things don't always work out the way they should.

"Wide Left": George Bevel looks to set the juggling world on fire by beating the previously held world record of juggling four balls for two hours and 46 minutes. He probably would have come close, but he couldn't stop laughing.

"The Last Stop Bulletin": The mighty Chin-wags keep you informed on all the day-to-day activities in the weekly newsletter.

"Holy Moses": That revered and often feared canine is back, too, and he's more lovable and judgmental than ever.

Just a sample of the fun you'll find in what might be the funniest audiobook you'll listen to all year.

I want to live here, how old do you have to be?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Oh yes. This is a great book; funny, wise, and touching. I'm going to pick it for my bookclub when it's my month to host.

What other book might you compare Grandma vs. the Tornado: A Cozy Without the Mystery to and why?

I would compare it to a book my Grandmother wrote and self published over 60 years ago, titled "Horse Sense From an Old Nag" Both books are packed with funny yet full of common sense stories told by someone who has been around the block more times than they'd like to count.

Which character – as performed by Rozanne Devine – was your favorite?

I can't remember if we were told her name, she is one of the Chinwags, but I really like the character who does the 1st person narration. She is a hoot! And she always has an opinion about whatever subject she happens to be talking about. And I have to mention Holy Moses. I haven't read the first book yet and the picture on the second book looks like a Rottweiler (my favorite breed), but it turns out he is a Mastiff - which is kinda close. Anyway - the way the dogs antics are written are so spot on for a Rottie, I just have to laugh at all his quirks

If you could take any character from Grandma vs. the Tornado: A Cozy Without the Mystery out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I think I would like to go on several dinner dates, there are so many great characters, I wouldn't want to limit myself to just one.

There is one character, a man - can't remember his name - but he was the guy who walked every day and lost a bunch of weight. He has lots of insight.

Amusing look into senior life

I received this audiobook from the author narrator or publisher free of charge via audiobookblast for free in exchange for an unbiased review....that being said it was an amusing listen...I would have liked dates to go with the columns as it was easy to lose track of the time of year they were in. The narrator really was the high point bringing the chin wags to life

Riproaring Fun at the Retirement Home

GRANDMA VS. THE TORNADO was a humorous weekly newsletter/bulletin with different columns such as 'The Suggestion Box', 'Moses', 'The Hot Seat', 'The Weather Front' and several others. There were suggestions, questions, answers, etc. It was cleverly written by Kirt J. Boyd and revolved around a year beginning at Halloween at the Last Stop Retirement Community. It didn't matter what year it was as it was sort of timeless. It could be any year.

This was a fun audiobook and it made me feel as if I were sitting around the table listening to the older folks chatting. I found there were a few good pearls of wisdom inside this book as well. This seemed to be in Colorado which I really liked. This kind of cute coziness needs no mystery.

ROZANNE DEVINE was hilarious as the narrator. Her performance was good and I feel she was perfect for this book. She made me laugh a few times. It was pretty enjoyable.

Not your Parent's Retirement Community

This is an entertaining look into what I would consider my perfect retirement community with a lively group of residents and a good-natured staff. It gives a brief look into the entertaining personalities, 2- & 4-legged, during each of the four seasons.

Kirt J. Boyd, I want to move my parents to this place now. It has a great amount of stimulation for the aging mind and just enough exaggeration to have me wiping tears of mirth away.

Rozanne Devine had me in fits of giggles with her vocals. I can not imagine a better narrator for this series.
