Publisher's summary

The first novel from New York Times best-selling author Ted Dekker.

"[Heaven's Wager is] genuinely exciting...fast paced...spine-tingling." (Publishers Weekly)

It was an absolutely perfect day...until everything went absolutely perfectly wrong.

Kent Anthony is a brilliant software engineer who is cashing in on a brilliant career. He's finally living the idyllic life, far from thoughts of theft and murder and other kinds of horrible criminal behavior.

He's left his past far behind...or so he thinks.

Ted Dekker delivers a fascinating story of the almost perfect crime, interwoven with a tale of bittersweet love that is almost enough to save a soul. A story that will bring you face-to-face with a hidden world more real than most people ever realize; a world where the unseen is more powerful than anything seen.

"Well, well, guess what I've found. A fiction writer with a rare knack for a compelling story, an expansive reservoir of clever ideas, and a unique dry wit that makes me laugh." (Frank Peretti, New York Times best-selling author)

"Rarely does a novel grip a reader's heart and soul the way Heaven's Wager does. Dekker is among a very small number of writers who have mastered the challenge of blending sound theology with knock-your-socks-off storytelling." (Robert Liparulo, novelist and contributing editor of New Man magazine)

Great narrator

I really enjoyed this book. At first I was thinking, “How can this go for 30+ more chapters?”, but it had me hooked for the whole book. It was made especially good by the awesome narrator.

Very different than expected

Felt like story took a while to get started and then a little slow in middle but overall a good enjoyable listen.

Interesting and thought provoking

Sure gives food for thought. Whether I agree with the theological aspects set forth or not, It is a good story overall and worth the read. I like the way Dekker thinks.

What a story!!

The writer has put so much into this story. I had to go back and listen to some chapters again to make sure I understood the whole book. The reader holds my attention as well. I did not want to be doing anything else while listening. Thanks for opening my eyes and heart.

WOW

At first this story was really bumming me out with all the disasters, and I doubted I'd continue the series. By the time I reached the end, however, all I could say was "WOW!"... just WOW! I think I will check out book two in the series, but I'll read the description more carefully first, because I honestly can't handle reading/ hearing/ meditating on another 17 hours worth of intense Job-like trauma, albeit an excellent story.

This was a great story that had me thinking of Heaven all the time, which we should do.
