About this listen

In a London funeral parlor, the dead rise and walk again. On a train in the London Underground, a young couple is terrorized by a demon. In a suburb, a poltergeist forces a family to flee their home.

Hellboy has his hands full.

While the supernatural is on a rampage in London, a series of brutal Torso Murders turns up at various sites around the city. All of the corpses are headless, limbless, and drained of their blood.

Called in to investigate the killings, B.P.R.D. agents Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman discover a wellspring of black magic under the London streets. They also find a sack of heads. Hellboy descends into the dark underworld of London, encountering demons who prophesy the coming of plague and the opening of an Eye to the otherworld, bringing forth death and destruction upon the land.

Hellboy goes to London

I don’t know why they haven’t decided to adapted this one into a film yet. Amazing story, interesting characters and a big plot twist worthy of Alfred Hitchcock himself, 5/5 definitely would recommend.

Terrible! Sadly, just terrible. (sob!)

T.A.N. - Terrible Annoying Narration

I ‘m a very big HELLBOY fan.
I started collecteing the comic books in the early 90’s.
I’m 58 years old.

I have the special comic editions in black & white.

I have the collected graphic novels. I have one graphic novel in hard back - it is one of my favorite books of all time.

Once, I happily waited for hours at a sneak preview just to meet and shake hands with actor Ron Pearlman. Ron Pearlman’s hand was large, with thick strong fingers, and it was very warm. An all time great hand-shake.

I have Mike Mignolas “The Art of HellBoy” art-book. His use of positive and negative space is amazing, his understanding of how to use black and white to create depth is magical. I’ve flipped through “The Art of HellBoy”’s pages so many times it’s spine is broken, and a few of the pages are loose. They are now held lovingly all together in a protective poly-bag - and I’m very careful to keep them in order, every time I look at it.

I have several of the HellBoy paper-backs.

I own the deluxe DVDs of the HellBoy movies.
I own the sound tracks from the HellBoy films - (the extra long versions.)
I have the “Art of the HellBoy Film” books. Well, just the first two by genius Guillermo del Toro.

I have a few other HELLBOY audible, audio books.
… and I love them all.

That being said, I’m sad to now have to say the audible version of “HELLBOY: The All Seeing Eye” hurt my ears. Worse. It hurt my brain.

Every word out of the narrator’s mouth was like long nasty finger nails scratching down a chalk board.

I can’t even tell if the book is good or bad.
I cannot listen to even one scene with-out cringing in pain, and clamping my hands over my ears, …as the red blood begins to run out of them.

I sadly cannot recommend the Audible version of this book.

Enjoyable listen overall

Overall this had a good story and was an enjoyable listen. That said, the narrator is horrible at female voices and all the women just sound like nasal weasel men. Also.. " Hellboy fell faster because of his greater weight"..... Really? Galileo would be turning in his grave at that!

Fun, not great, but fun!

See the title. If you want a something easy, this is solid, but not going to blow the doors off.
