Publisher's summary
Written and narrated by her only daughter, Veda Williams, Her Last Breath is a beautiful story of a celebratory transition from life on earth to eternal life with the most high God.
Ruth C. Baker, affectionately known as "Meema", lived her life in service to others, with her motto being, "If I can help somebody as I travel on, then my living will not be in vain." Neither her living nor her last breath was in vain. Ruth C. Baker lived with purpose and took her last breath with the purpose of giving honor and praise to her mighty God.
Her Last Breath takes you through the last 18 hours and final moments of the beautiful life of Ruth C. Baker as she raised her hands toward heaven while taking her last breath. This audiobook features a recording never heard before. The voice you hear is her singing the Sabbath before she took her last breath.
The words are simply "Jesus came all the way from heaven down to save a wretch like me." This was a beautiful, intimate gift, caught by recording at four a.m. between mother, daughter, and God as they laid outside under the stars, in the backyard, by the pool, giving all praises and honor to God.

Story
Talking about death and dying is considered taboo in polite company, and even in the medical field. Our ideas about dying are confusing at best: Will our memories flash before our eyes? Regrets consume our thoughts? Does a bright light appear at the end of a tunnel? For most people, it will be a slower process, one eased with preparedness, good humor, and a bit of faith. At the forefront of changing attitudes around palliative care is hospice nurse Hadley Vlahos, who shows that end-of-life care can teach us just as much about how to live as it does about how we die.

Story
Forensic pathologist Janis Amatuzio first began recording the stories told to her by patients, police officers, and other doctors because she felt that no one spoke for the dead. She believed the real experience of death, namely the spiritual and otherworldly experiences of those near death and their loved ones, was ignored by the medical professionals, who thought of death as simply the cessation of breath. She knew there was more.

Beautiful transition
This is such a spiritual and touching testimony of a beautiful mother and her peaceful transition.
I was in the bed listening to this testimony. Tears rolled down my eyes as I envisioned the Holy Spirit and the angels surrounding aunt Ruth as she raised her hands singing and praising while being lovingly ushered into glory.
The everlasting love of a beloved mother can be felt as she left a heartbeat for her children.
The calming voice of a loving daughter as she narrates the transition of her mother is a wonderful legacy. Thank you for sharing your experience Veda.

God’s Greatest Blessing
This story is so powerfully touching. The narration so sweetly spoken by a caring daughter by her mothers side during her last days on this earth. I am in AWE of this beautiful story and the Blessing God gave this family. The gentle singing of a mother during her last breaths is the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I am grateful that this amazing daughter shared her story with me! “ALL THE WAY FROM HEAVEN DOWN TO SAVE A WRECH LIKE ME!” A SYMBOL OG GOD’S GRACE AND MERCY…..,,

All the Way From Heaven Down…..
I listened to your story first thing this morning. It was bittersweet, especially hearing her voice the Sabbath before her last breath singing her favorite song. Of course it brought tears to my eyes. You did such a good job describing those last hours. What an amazing experience you and Vorice went through. It seems she could see her Maker calling her to come rest in his arms.
I’ve lost many family members but I’ve never been there for their last breath. For her it was a beautiful thing.
May you and your brothers be blessed because of her life.
Always keep the faith and we’ll see her again. I know she’ll be waking up on that great gettin’ up morning!
Love your family. 💕
Be merry this Christmas! 🎄
