Publisher's summary

Amelia Moore, the founder of the Moore Detective Agency, specializes in missing persons. Her cases have taken her to some very interesting places and put her in some dangerous situations, but she always solves the case. With the help of her partner, Rick Bonito, the business is flourishing.

Julie Anderson feels a need to find the man she fell deeply in love with during her youth. When Julie went off to college to become a lawyer, she lost contact with her high school sweetheart. She now wants to know what became of Joey, and why he stopped writing to her. This is an assignment that intrigues Amelia. The thought of finding a long-lost love seems quite romantic.

A lovely story. One of my favourites of the series

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the story line to Amelia's latest mystery. It is a really sweet story about a woman looking to be reunited with her childhood sweetheart.
I liked how the author kept us guessing about what happened to the man in question and whether or not it would lead to the happy ever after that everyone was hoping for. Rick was the voice of caution.
Amelia and Rick's relationship also progresses in a happy direction. I have enjoyed their burgeoning romance and it adds a lovely subplot to the whole series.
I also loved the comedic elements in the story especially the incident of Amelia's kidnapping.
Hugely entertaining and highly recommended.

Great Cozy Mystery!

I always love a good Audible book because then I can read and multi-task. I was really happy to read book 5 in the Amelia Moore Detective Series, because I had really enjoyed the others. This one did not disappoint. Narrator Diane Lehman was an enjoyable narrator and very expressive.

Ms. Clarke's books are always a good and clean read. It is a fun cozy mystery and I love how it brings in the area in St. George, Utah, which I am so familiar with. Ms. Clarke always makes you feel as though you are right there enjoying the scenery and the surroundings.

I loved how Rick and Amelia work so well together, have their bucket lists, and seem to always get into a few tight fixes. I really enjoyed the book, loved the fact that it was audible and could listen without turning a page!

Great book! I received an Audible copy of this book from the author.

Perfectly-paced, intriguing cozy mystery!

Would you listen to Her Lost Love again? Why?

Yes, I would. Her Lost Love is a very good mystery adventure set amidst picturesque scenery with a strong romantic element. Besides the story, I also enjoyed 'adventuring' with the couple as they visited Zion National Park and Snow Canyon State Park... learned about toads... and much more. I had visited Zion years ago and this book let me relive so many fond memories.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rick Bonito was my favorite character. He's so patient, honorable, smart and tender. He's a sweetheart. If Amelia doesn't want him, I do!!!!!

He's very romantic... sigh...and he makes me laugh.

“Romantic?” he teased. “Of course, I wouldn’t be interested in something like that. Is that what you think?” He winked at her. “After all, I’m just a guy. Men wouldn’t be interested in a bit of romance. Right?”

Which scene was your favorite?

This series also serves as a fun travel diary. After I finish each of these books, I feel that I’ve ‘adventured’ the areas they visited too thanks to the author’s vivid imagery. Don’t you love it when education is entertaining? In the past, the couple has traipsed through Bali, Ireland, Mexico and the American West taking drooling readers along for the ride. In Her Lost Love, we get to visit northern Arizona and southern Utah. One of my favorite both photographic and tender scenes takes place at Snow Canyon State Park as the couple evening-hiked the Petrified Dunes Trail and star-gazed. The dunes are painted the brightest red coral. While stargazing, Rick points out the Big and Little Dippers, the Milky Way and Orion. Here’s a short snippet from that memorable excursion:

Hmmm,” hummed Rick. “Now isn’t this pleasant?” With a sigh, he softly said, “’Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.’”
“That’s beautiful,” whispered Amelia as if not wanting to ruin the pleasant mood he had just created.
“Henry Wadsworth Longfellow…
“Have you ever heard of the constellation: Berenice’s Hair?”…
“It’s named after an Egyptian queen. Berenice and Ptolemy were newlyweds when he went off to war. She was worried about him so she made a deal with the goddess of love to protect her husband. In order to save his life, Berenice was supposed to cut off her long golden hair, which she was very proud of. She felt it was her crowning glory, but she was willing to sacrifice anything for the man she loved. The goddess was so pleased with her newly acquired treasure that she took it up to heaven.”

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Rick and Amelia's adventure in Color Country!

Any additional comments?

Her Lost Love is the fifth installment in Linda Weaver-Clarke’s Amelia Moore Detective Agency cozy mystery series. As with the previous books, Her Lost Love is sweet and clean. There’s no hanky panky other than a few chaste kisses. Even so, I found Her Lost Love to be the most romantic installment of this series and my favorite-to-date.

Diane Lehman continues as the talented narrator of this series. She has an amazing voice excellently balancing pacing, sound and characterization. Her voice is extremely clear and she differentiates between the characters to where I have no problem knowing who is speaking at any one time. Her characters also sound realistic. She's quite versatile, too, as throughout the series she's voiced multiple accents and sang in different genuine-sounding voices. I look forward to hearing more of her performances in the future.

Fun Cozy Mystery!

This is the 5th book in the Amelia Moore Detective series but it stands alone. Amelia and Rick are hired by a prominent lawyer to find her long lost love who disappeared suddenly over 20 years ago. Is he still alive? Is he married? This is a very appealing premise, who doesn't wonder about an old flame! This time their travels take them to Utah and Arizona and we enjoy the sites and scenery and gather clues with them. Rick and Amelia's relationship takes an interesting turn in this story,

Can't Get Enough Amelia Moore!

Any additional comments?

There's a lot to be said about an author who can create an entire series of cozy mysteries and still delight and surprise her readers with each new book. I'm thrilled to say Linda Weaver Clarke is one of those authors, and her Amelia Moore Detective Series just keeps getting better and better.

The fifth book in the series, "Her Lost Love" is a wonderful blend of romance, mystery, travel and suspense. The series features Amelia and her partner, Rick Bonito, who run a detective agency that specializes in locating missing persons.

In this book, a former classmate of Amelia's enlists her help in finding her childhood sweetheart who disappeared years earlier. The setting is in Utah and Arizona, which the author describes beautifully. The narration by Diane Lehman was impeccable; she has a real handle on what the author is projecting through her characters. The romance between Amelia and Rick progresses naturally and very credibly. The author's dialogue is fantastic and realistic.

I love long-lost love stories, cozy, clean mysteries, happy endings and most of all, well-written books. If you like these - or any of these, too, you will love "Her Lost Love". What a great find!

I highly recommend this fine audio book, which I received in exchange for an honest review.

My Favorite So Far

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would highly recommend this audiobook to a friend. It was well written and the story was fresh. I have grown to love the missing person mysteries! The story had a wonderful pace. I also enjoyed how it played to my romantic side without it being overdone. I found it thoroughly entertaining. I love stories that end well (and this one did). But I wasn't positively sure it was going to, which was also fun. The author had intrigue throughout the whole book, and it had enough mystery to keep me wondering and guessing but not frustrated. I think this book 5 is my favorite in the series so far (but definitely read them in order). Thank you Linda Clarke for another great story.
