Love Greek mythology!

I love just about everything about Greek Mythology so this was a very fun and enthralling listen. Relatively light hearted and fun this was action packed and the story moved very fast. Couldn't put this one down.

The narrator did a good job overall. I didn't personally care for the narration but it wasn't bad.

Good start to the series

This was an interesting listen with a strong hero, damsels in distress and monsters. It is set in ancient times but the author often uses modern colloquialisms that strangely seem to work. The narration was excellent.

Epic story with hilarious references

Eno is a masterful character, and I can't recommend this book enough. The glib humor was very refreshing while not detrimental to the storyline. The story itself was quite compelling, and I'll be eagerly awaiting the next installment.

The narration was excellent, though the minor characters tended to run together a bit.

Finally, I won't ruin the story for you, but this book completely changed my view of a certain snackfood. I honestly couldn't help but have fits of laughter at every reference to it and its use.

Overall a great story

Coming off a 6 book series, I was a bit impatient for the story to gain momentum, but the wait was well worth it. It was a very engaging story with it's fair share of laughs. if fantasy and mythology interests you, then do yourself a favor and give it a go.

Would you consider the audio edition of Hero for Hire to be better than the print version?

Have not read the print, but highly recommend the audio book.

It was a fun way to learn about Greek methodology. Packed full of monsters and action. Well written and researched, but not to serious.

What about Randal Schaffer’s performance did you like?

A real mans-man voice and dry approach, not overly emotional. I enjoyed it very much. It is exactly how I see this hero.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. The story is fun, fast past, has an unpredictable plot and a lot of interesting characters. The talking part in the underworld could be shorter, but I know it was needed.

A Fun Romp

Eno is a monster killer for hire who gets more than he bargained for when he takes on a job to clear out some Harpies. When I saw this book I thought of Alex Bledoe’s Eddie LaCrosse series, which combines the hard boiled detective genre with sword and sorcery. “Hero for Hire” is very different from the Eddie LaCrosse series but it’s still a fun read/listen. “Hero for Hire” is set in that sword and sandal era when mankind was polytheistic and the Gods routinely screwed with our lives. Yet author C. B. Pratt also gives her book a modern feel to it that’s fun. Give “Hero for Hire:” Eno The Thracian a try. It’s a fun romp
