According to the Bible, the world system is often portrayed as being in opposition to God and His principles. It is depicted as a complex network of cultural, political, economic, and social structures that promote values and behaviors contrary to God's will. This system is influenced by sin and under the sway of Satan, who is referred to as "the ruler of this world" (John 12:31, Ephesians 2:2).
The world system can be understood through various biblical themes and passages. One of the most comprehensive descriptions is found in 1 John 2:15-17, which warns believers not to love the world or the things in the world. The passage explains that the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life are not from the Father but from the world.
