Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

Folksy and fresh, endearing and affecting, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is the now-classic novel of two women in the 1980s; of gray-headed Mrs. Threadgoode telling her life story to Evelyn, who is in the sad slump of middle age. The tale she tells is also of two women - of the irrepressibly daredevilish tomboy Idgie and her friend Rut - -who back in the thirties ran a little place in Whistle Stop, Alabama, a Southern kind of Cafe Wobegon offering good barbecue and good coffee and all kinds of love and laughter, even an occasional murder.

Story
A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

Story
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Story
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

Saw the lineup and immediately thought funny😞
While the story was interesting I thought it would be more humorous. Still good for a holiday listen. Happy Holidays!

BEST Christmas Short Read!!!
I absolutely LOVED this story and it didn't hurt that one of the performers is Maya Rudolph who is my absolute favorite actress! I smiled through the whole story and was left searching for something I felt comparable....STILL SEARCHING!

Not funny
This was too close to home to me. Family and friends dynamics are real and this is touches a lot of nerves especially around the holidays. Felt more sad than happy. Yet I have watched the performers in the past and love their work. It must just be me

Very entertaining
The production was great! I loved the music and performances, everything came together nicely. the story is really good too, we can all relate to situations like that in life. It was a great listen during the holiday season. I hope they come up with more audiobooks about Sugar and Booze, I want to know what happens to them.

Disappointing
The audio was difficult to hear at times with all the noise and different characters talking. There wasn't much of a story line. This was not the light holiday cheer I anticipated! More an average plot, average production, with lots of stereotypes, little surprise and little enjoyment.

Kinda deep and depressing
It tells the story of two friends from college to midlife. It’s a little depressing and sometimes funny. If you let it, it can inspire you can reflect on your own life to hopefully identify what really matters. You have to love Aunt Anna!
