Amanda Pearson was once the hottest rising star in the music world. Not anymore. Washed up, broke and directionless following a public breakdown, she is certain she will never be adored again. But she is very wrong.
Her old manager calls her out of the blue with an opportunity: a week’s stay at an isolated mansion with five strangers, all under constant observation. Every day they must take a pill. Five people will be taking a placebo, but one person will take an experimental drug that they are assured has no adverse side effects. So, what’s the catch? Amanda isn’t sure, but the pay is too tempting to turn down.
However, it soon becomes clear that this is no ordinary experiment. Each day Amanda discovers more about her fellow housemates, that the old mansion holds horrifying secrets, and that there is no way out....

Interesting story with a disappointing ending!
The story was so captivating until the very end when there was a huge letdown of information. Just stopped suddenly for no reason at all, no closure.

weird. not at all certain I enjoyed it, but couldn't stop listening to it.
the characters are what propels it. the mystery is not well crafted, so it doesn't actually propel it. it's more of a "what if?" story.

Must Listen!!!! 👂
This book is as hilarious as it deranged! I loved the beginning half where I was laughing at the characters who were so well done and then things spiralled out of control toward the end. One thing is for sure, I could not stop listening! The narration was amazing and the story, as gruesome as it was at times, was incredibly engaging. I was looking for a listen to get me out of a terrible book rut and this was definitely just the ticket. Beware of the triggers. It's graphic and disturbing in the end, but I can't help but give it a solid 5 🌟 review!
