About this listen

The sequel to Black Autumn Travelers

Mat Best, Sage Ross, and Cameron Stewart dangle over the abyss of lost civilization, two months after the collapse.

Army ranger Mat Best scrambles to defend the Tennessee town that struggled and failed to save his love, Caroline, from the ravages of gangrene. He stands between her orphaned brother, William, the town, and tens of thousands of feral urbanites starving to strip the town bare.

Seventeen-year-old Sage Ross flees a charred and broken farm in western Washington state. He faces a perilous winter mountain climb, then a chain of impossible choices that he must brook before continuing his homeward journey to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Cameron Stewart, the insecure family man surviving on luck and fury, flees a black-hearted polygamist enclave in northern Arizona with his family, then drops them into the gristmill of starvation. Hunger takes them down dark roads, and Cameron commits foul acts in the midst of his delirium. Will his wife and children pay the ultimate price for his dishonor?

Just Wow

Can’t believe how many times I said wow and at times cringed. Excellent Narration by Mr. Pierce as usual really got down to nitty gritty and makes one turn to look at the effectiveness of their preparations. And reveals how the reader/listener would react to the extreme circumstances a collapse would present.

Exciting

I really enjoyed the details of this book. The characters and the emotional struggle that they go through. I also like to say I enjoy the idea something like this happening and like-minded people coming together to protect their family their property and their way of life.

Like switching from book to book, story to story.

While I like the story, it would be my preference to follow only one main character in a book. Something caught on among authors a few years ago, to write one book containing multiple character/stories. I dislike that as well as too many sexual descriptions and foul language.

Good story, great narrator

The further into this series I get the better the writing is and the more I enjoy it. The narrator makes it great. Worth getting involved into the storyline about the folks from BRCC.

Pretty good read!

It was at times a struggle for me to keep track of who was who. However, I don't think it was an Author thing so much as I still have some residual brain fog from covid. I will listen to this one again. It all came together towards the end. Kevin Pierce as always gives an excellent performance. Jason Ross is an excellent author as I've read some of his works before. I'm not familiar with Adam Fullman but have no doubt if I see his name in the future on the cover of a book, I will surely delve into the pages! Great job guys!

Awesome read/listen. MUST Listen too

Following three separate adventures of previous character's. The story lines were enticing and disturbing, showing what could and probably would happen in a post apocalyptic setting. Many disturbing things can happen and probably will. STories are well done, well read and awesome.

Incredible! There's Something for Everyone

The Black Autumn series has never failed to retain my interesting. There are very few things in my life that can coax me away from time spent sleeping, but Honor Road had me up until the wee hours of the morning, desperate to turn the next page.

Wether you fancy yourself a action/thriller aficionado, a prepper, a casual reader, or a dedicated gun fighter, there is truly something for everybody from cover to cover. The content itself is riveting. It's a how-to survival guide disguised as an action-packed novel. The Romantic overtones found in most modern literature take a back seat to the harrowing reality that is a post-apocalyptic America. The writing style is sprinkled with subtle humor that makes the reads smooth.

It feels realistic

It’s nice to have the main characters fail and fail badly in a survival book. It’s a good story about how people can be good and bad at the same time and they eliminate the idea of any Mary Sue’s the end was good
